MASS AIR FLOW METER ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION

Note


  • Perform the mass air flow meter sub-assembly inspection according to the following procedure.

  • Only replace the mass air flow meter sub-assembly when the mass air flow meter sub-assembly value in the Data List (with the engine stopped) is not within the normal operating range or there is foreign matter on the mass air flow meter sub-assembly platinum hot wire (heater).

PROCEDURE


  1. INSPECT MASS AIR FLOW METER SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON (do not start the engine).

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine / Data List / Mass Air Flow Sensor.


      Powertrain > Engine > Data List
      Tester Display
      Mass Air Flow Sensor
    5. A01M03YC04
      A01M03W Air

      Blow air into the mass air flow meter sub-assembly and check that the value of Mass Air Flow Sensor fluctuates.

      If the result is not as specified, inspect the mass air flow meter sub-assembly, wire harness and ECM.
