THROTTLE BODY INSTALLATION

PROCEDURE


  1. INSTALL THROTTLE BODY GASKET


    1. A01M071C03
      *a Intercooler Assembly Side
      *b Intake Manifold Side
      *c Protrusion

      Install a new throttle body gasket to the intake manifold with the protrusion of the throttle body gasket oriented as shown in the illustration.

    2. Install a new throttle body gasket to the intercooler assembly with the protrusion of the throttle body gasket oriented as shown in the illustration.

  2. INSTALL THROTTLE BODY WITH MOTOR ASSEMBLY

    Perform "Inspection After Repair" after replacing the throttle body with motor assembly.

    1. Set the throttle body with motor assembly between the intake manifold and intercooler assembly.

      Note


      • Do not drop the throttle body with motor assembly.

      • If the throttle body with motor assembly has been struck or dropped, replace it.

    2. A01LVBZ

      Using an E6 "TORX" socket wrench, install the 2 stud bolts.

      Torque:
      5.0 N*m  { 51 kgf*cm, 44 in.*lbf }
    3. Install the throttle body with motor assembly with the 2 bolts and 2 nuts.

      Torque:
      10 N*m  { 102 kgf*cm, 7 ft.*lbf }
    4. Connect the No. 1 water by-pass hose and No. 2 water by-pass hose to the throttle body with motor assembly and slide the 2 clips to secure them.

    5. Connect the throttle body with motor assembly connector.

  3. ADD ENGINE COOLANT

  4. INSPECT FOR COOLANT LEAK

  5. PERFORM INITIALIZATION

    Note


    • Be sure to perform this procedure after removing and reinstalling the throttle body with motor assembly or any throttle body with motor assembly components.

    • Perform the following procedure after replacing the throttle body with motor assembly or any throttle body with motor assembly components. The following procedure should also be performed if the throttle body with motor assembly is cleaned.


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Clear the DTCs.

    3. Perform "Inspection After Repair".

      Click here

    4. Start the engine and check that the MIL is not illuminated. After the engine is warmed up, check that the idle speed is within the specified range with the A/C switch off.

      Standard
      680 to 780 rpm

      Note


      • Be sure to perform this step with all accessories off.

      • Make sure that the shift lever is in N or P.

    5. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine / Data List / Throttle Sensor Position.

      Tester Display
      Throttle Sensor Position
    6. Fully depress the accelerator pedal and check that the value is 60% or higher.

    7. Perform a road test and confirm that there are no abnormalities.
