THROTTLE BODY INSTALLATION

PROCEDURE


  1. INSTALL THROTTLE BODY GASKET


    1. A01TAF7C01
      *1 Protrusion

      Install a new throttle body gasket onto the intake manifold.

      Tech Tips

      Orient the protrusion of the gasket as shown in the illustration.

  2. INSTALL THROTTLE WITH MOTOR BODY ASSEMBLY


    1. Install the throttle with motor body assembly and wire harness bracket with the 4 bolts.

      Torque:
      10 N*m  { 102 kgf*cm, 7 ft.*lbf }

    2. Connect the 2 water hoses and slide the 2 clamps to secure them.

    3. Connect the throttle with motor body assembly connector and wire harness clamp.

  3. INSTALL AIR CLEANER CAP SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. A01TCJZ

      Install the air cleaner cap sub-assembly with the hose clamp as shown in the illustration.

    2. Install the air cleaner cap sub-assembly and lock the 2 clamps.

    3. A01T8NK

      Install the purge valve (purge VSV) to the air cleaner cap sub-assembly.

    4. Connect the mass air flow meter connector and engage the 2 wire harness clamps to the air cleaner cap sub-assembly.

    5. Connect the ventilation hose and slide the clamp to secure it.

  4. ADD ENGINE COOLANT

  5. INSPECT FOR ENGINE COOLANT LEAK

  6. INSTALL NO. 1 ENGINE COVER

  7. PERFORM INITIALIZATION

    Note

    Perform the following procedure after replacing the throttle with motor body assembly or any throttle with motor body assembly components. The following procedure should also be performed if the throttle with motor body assembly is cleaned.


    1. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal. Wait at least 60 seconds and reconnect the cable.

    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON without operating the accelerator pedal.

      Note

      If the accelerator pedal is operated, perform the above step again.

    3. Connect the GTS to the DLC3 and clear the DTCs Click here.

    4. Perform the "Inspection After Repairs" Click here.

    5. Start the engine and check that the MIL is not illuminated. After the engine is warmed up, check that the idle speed is within the specified range with the A/C switch off.

      Standard idle speed
      600 to 700 rpm

      Note


      • Turn all electrical systems and the A/C off.

      • Inspect the idle speed with the cooling fans off.

      • When checking the idle speed, the transaxle should be in neutral or park.

    6. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Data List / Throttle Sensor Position. Fully depress the accelerator pedal and check that the value is 60% or higher.

    7. Perform a road test and confirm that there are no abnormalities.
