Tech Tips


  • DTCs which are stored in the ECM can be displayed on the GTS. The GTS can display current and pending DTCs.

  • Same DTCs are not set if the ECM does not detect the same malfunction again during a second consecutive driving cycle. However, such malfunctions, detected on only one occasion, are stored as pending DTCs.

  • Pending DTCs are stored when a malfunction is detected once.


  1. CHECK DTC (Using GTS)


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON and turn the GTS on.

    3. Enter the following menus : Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Trouble Codes.

    4. Check and make a note of DTCs and freeze frame data.

    5. Confirm the details of the DTCs.

  2. CLEAR DTC (Using GTS)


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON (do not start the engine) and turn the GTS on.

    3. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Trouble Codes.

    4. Clear the DTCs and freeze frame data.


      Powertrain > Engine and ECT > Clear DTCs
