RADIATOR(except Sedan) INSTALLATION

PROCEDURE


  1. INSTALL RADIATOR DRAIN COCK PLUG


    1. Install the O-ring to the radiator drain cock plug.

      Note

      Replace the O-ring if it is damaged.

    2. Install the radiator drain cock plug.

  2. INSTALL RADIATOR ASSEMBLY


    1. Install the fan shroud to the radiator assembly with the 2 bolts.

      Torque:
      7.0 N*m  { 71 kgf*cm, 62 in.*lbf }

    2. Install the 2 lower radiator supports.

    3. Install the radiator assembly with the fan shroud.

      Note

      Do not apply excessive force to the condenser assembly or pipe when installing the radiator assembly.

      Engage the 2 guides to connect the condenser assembly as shown in the illustration.

      Note

      Do not damage the condenser assembly or radiator assembly when installing the condenser assembly.

    5. Connect the cooling fan ECU connector.

    6. Connect the wire harness and clamp.

  3. INSTALL NO. 2 FAN SHROUD


    1. Engage the 2 claws and 2 guides and install the No. 2 fan shroud to the radiator assembly.

    2. Install the 2 bolts.

      Torque:
      7.0 N*m  { 71 kgf*cm, 62 in.*lbf }

    3. Install the 2 radiator support cushions to the No. 2 fan shroud.

  4. CONNECT NO. 3 WATER BY-PASS HOSE


    1. Connect the No. 3 water by-pass hose, and slide the clip to secure it.

    2. Connect the clamp.

  5. INSTALL UPPER RADIATOR SUPPORT SUB-ASSEMBLY

      Install the upper radiator support sub-assembly with the 5 bolts.

      Torque:
      Bolt A, B
      12.5 N*m  { 127 kgf*cm, 9 ft.*lbf }
      Bolt C
      8.0 N*m  { 82 kgf*cm, 71 in.*lbf }

      Tech Tips

      Use a 10 mm union nut wrench to install the 2 bolts (A).

    2. Connect the wire harness with the 2 clamps. (w/ Engine Hood Courtesy Switch)

    3. Connect the engine hood courtesy switch connector. (w/ Engine Hood Courtesy Switch)

    4. Connect the hood lock control cable assembly to the upper radiator support sub-assembly with the 2 clamps.

    5. Connect the hood lock control cable assembly to the hood lock control lever sub-assembly.

  6. CONNECT NO. 2 RADIATOR HOSE


    1. Connect the No. 2 radiator hose and slide the clip to secure it.

  7. CONNECT NO. 3 RADIATOR HOSE


    1. Connect the water by-pass hose and slide the clip to secure it.

  8. CONNECT WATER BY-PASS HOSE


    1. Connect the water by-pass hose and slide the clip to secure it.

  9. CONNECT NO. 1 WATER HOSE CLAMP BRACKET


    1. Connect the 2 clamps and install the No. 1 water hose clamp bracket to the upper radiator support sub-assembly with the 2 bolts.

      Torque:
      5.0 N*m  { 51 kgf*cm, 44 in.*lbf }

  10. INSTALL THERMISTOR ASSEMBLY

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  14. ADD ENGINE COOLANT

  15. INSPECT FOR COOLANT LEAK

  16. INSTALL NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER
