THERMOSTAT INSPECTION

PROCEDURE


  1. INSPECT WATER INLET


    1. Check the valve opening temperature of the thermostat (element, spring and frame).

      Standard Valve Opening Temperature
      80 to 84°C (176 to 183°F)

      Tech Tips

      If the valve opening temperature is not as specified, replace the thermostat (element, spring and frame).

    2. A00Y4XVC01
      *a 8.5 mm or more

      Check the valve lift.

      Standard Valve Lift
      8.5 mm (0.335 in.) or more at 95°C (203°F)

      Tech Tips

      If the valve lift is not as specified, replace the thermostat (element, spring and frame).

    3. Check that the valve is fully closed when the element is at low temperatures (below 77°C (171°F)).

      Tech Tips

      If the valve is not fully closed, replace the thermostat (element, spring and frame).
