RADIATOR REMOVAL

PROCEDURE


  1. REMOVE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY LH

  2. REMOVE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY RH

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  3. REMOVE FRONT BUMPER ENERGY ABSORBER

  4. REMOVE FRONT BUMPER REINFORCEMENT SUB-ASSEMBLY

  5. REMOVE THERMISTOR ASSEMBLY

    Click here

  6. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER

  7. REMOVE BATTERY

    Click here

  8. REMOVE BATTERY CARRIER BRACKET SUB-ASSEMBLY

  9. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT

    Click here

  10. REMOVE INJECTOR DRIVER

    Click here

  11. REMOVE NO. 1 RADIATOR AIR GUIDE LH

    1. Disengage the 2 claws and remove the clip and No. 1 radiator air guide LH.

  12. REMOVE NO. 1 RADIATOR AIR GUIDE RH

      Disengage the 2 claws and remove the clip and No. 1 radiator air guide RH.

  13. REMOVE NO. 3 RADIATOR AIR GUIDE

      Disengage the claw and remove the No. 3 radiator air guide.

  14. REMOVE RADIATOR SUPPORT TO CROSS MEMBER BRACE SUB-ASSEMBLY

      Disconnect the hone connector.

    2. A012GMT

      Remove the 2 bolts and radiator support to cross member brace sub-assembly.

  15. REMOVE RADIATOR SUPPORT LH

      Remove the bolt and radiator support LH.

    2. Remove the radiator support cushion.

  16. REMOVE RADIATOR SUPPORT RH


    1. A012HVR

      Remove the bolt and radiator support RH.

    2. Remove the radiator support cushion.

  17. REMOVE UPPER RADIATOR SUPPORT SUB-ASSEMBLY LH


    1. A012LJF

      Remove the 2 bolts and upper radiator support sub-assembly LH.

  18. REMOVE UPPER RADIATOR SUPPORT SUB-ASSEMBLY RH


    1. A012HIH

      Remove the 2 bolts and upper radiator support sub-assembly RH.

  19. DISCONNECT NO. 3 WATER BY-PASS HOSE


    1. A012N5H

      Disconnect the clamp.

    2. Slide the clip and disconnect the No. 3 water by-pass hose.

  20. DISCONNECT NO. 1 WATER HOSE CLAMP BRACKET


    1. A012MXB

      Remove the 2 bolts and 2 clamps and disconnect the No. 1 water hose clamp bracket from the upper radiator support sub-assembly.

  21. REMOVE UPPER RADIATOR SUPPORT SUB-ASSEMBLY

      Disconnect the hood lock control cable assembly from the hood lock control lever sub-assembly.

    2. A012K64

      Disconnect the 2 clamps and hood lock control cable assembly from the upper radiator support sub-assembly.

    3. A012IIZ

      Disconnect the engine hood courtesy switch connector.

    4. A012GBW

      Disconnect the 2 clamps and wire harness.

    5. A012HI9

      Remove the 4 bolts and upper radiator support sub-assembly.

  22. DISCONNECT NO. 1 VACUUM TRANSMITTING PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. A012J09

      Slide the clip and disconnect the No. 1 vacuum transmitting pipe sub-assembly.

  23. REMOVE INTERCOOLER AIR HOSE

      *a Retainer

      Loosen the clamp and disconnect the intercooler air hose from the No. 1 air tube.

    2. Pull the retainer and remove the intercooler air hose from the intercooler assembly.

  24. REMOVE NO. 3 AIR HOSE


    1. A012GYG

      Loosen the 2 hose clamps.

    2. Remove the No. 3 air hose from the No. 2 air tube and diesel throttle body.

  25. DISCONNECT NO. 3 RADIATOR HOSE


    1. A012H35

      Slide the clip and disconnect the clamp and No. 3 radiator hose.

  26. DISCONNECT NO. 2 RADIATOR HOSE


    1. A012FMI

      Slide the clip and disconnect the No. 2 radiator hose.

  27. REMOVE RADIATOR ASSEMBLY

      Disconnect the clamp.

    2. Disconnect the intake air temperature sensor connector, No. 2 cooling fan motor connector and cooling fan motor connector.

    3. A012L6Z

      Remove the radiator assembly with the fan shroud.

      Note

      For vehicles with the air conditioning system, do not apply excessive force to the condenser assembly or pipe when removing the radiator assembly.

    4. Remove the 2 lower radiator supports.

  28. REMOVE NO. 2 AIR TUBE


    1. A012MRC

      Disconnect the clamp.

    2. Disconnect the intake air temperature sensor connector.

    3. A012JME

      Loosen the hose clamp.

    4. Remove the bolt and No. 2 air tube.

  29. REMOVE NO. 2 RADIATOR HOSE


    1. A012LJ6

      Slide the clip and remove the No. 2 radiator hose.

  30. REMOVE NO. 1 VACUUM TRANSMITTING PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. A012H7B

      Remove the 3 bolts.

    2. Slide the clip and disconnect the hose.

    3. Disconnect the clamp and then remove the No. 1 vacuum transmitting pipe sub-assembly.

  31. REMOVE LOWER RADIATOR SUPPORT SUB-ASSEMBLY LH

  33. REMOVE INTERCOOLER ASSEMBLY

  34. REMOVE FAN SHROUD


    1. A012G8S

      Remove the 2 bolts and lift the fan shroud from the radiator assembly.
