INTAKE MANIFOLD INSTALLATION

PROCEDURE


  1. INSTALL STUD BOLT (w/ Stud Bolt)

    Tech Tips

    If a stud bolt is deformed or the threads are damaged, replace it.


    1. A002ZMG

      Using an E6 "TORX" socket wrench, install the 2 stud bolts to the intake manifold.

      Torque:
      5.0 N*m  { 51 kgf*cm, 44 in.*lbf }

  2. INSTALL INTAKE MANIFOLD


    1. Install the engine cover joint to the intake manifold.

      Torque:
      10 N*m  { 102 kgf*cm, 7 ft.*lbf }

    2. Using a 24 mm deep socket wrench, install the gas filter to the intake manifold.

      Torque:
      17 N*m  { 173 kgf*cm, 13 ft.*lbf }

    3. Connect the air hose to the intake manifold and gas filter.

    4. Install a new No. 1 intake manifold to head gasket to the intake manifold.

    5. Temporarily install the intake manifold stay and intake manifold with the 5 bolts and 2 nuts.

      Tighten the 5 bolts and 2 nuts to the specified torque in several steps.

      Torque:
      28 N*m  { 286 kgf*cm, 21 ft.*lbf }

    7. Connect the ventilation hose to the intake manifold and slide the clip to secure it.

    8. Connect the fuel vapor feed hose to the intake manifold.

    9. Connect the wire harness clamp, air hose and vacuum switching valve (for ACIS) connector.

    10. Connect the wire harness clamp bracket to the intake manifold with the bolt.

      Torque:
      10 N*m  { 102 kgf*cm, 7 ft.*lbf }

    11. Install the wire harness clamp bracket to the intake manifold with the bolt.

      Torque:
      15 N*m  { 153 kgf*cm, 11 ft.*lbf }

    12. Connect the 3 clamps and wire harness.

  3. INSTALL VACUUM SENSOR (MANIFOLD ABSOLUTE PRESSURE SENSOR)


    1. Using a 10 mm deep socket wrench, install the vacuum sensor (manifold absolute pressure sensor) to the intake manifold with the engine cover joint.

      Torque:
      10 N*m  { 102 kgf*cm, 7 ft.*lbf }

    2. Connect the air hose and vacuum sensor (manifold absolute pressure sensor) connector to the vacuum sensor (manifold absolute pressure sensor).
