BLACK OUT TAPE(for Front Door) REMOVAL

Tech Tips


  • Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.

  • The procedure listed below is for the LH side.

  • When removing the black out tape, heat the vehicle body surface and black out tape using a heat light.

Standard
Item Temperature
Vehicle Body 40 to 60°C (104 to 140°F)
Black Out Tape 20 to 30°C (68 to 86°F)

Note

Do not heat the vehicle body or black out tape excessively.

PROCEDURE


  1. PRECAUTION

    Note

    After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal notice before proceeding with work Click here.

  2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

    Note

    When disconnecting the cable some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Click here.

  3. REMOVE FRONT DOOR INSIDE HANDLE BEZEL LH

    1. Remove the upper part of the front door weatherstrip so that the black out tape can be removed.

  13. REMOVE NO. 1 BLACK OUT TAPE LH

    1. Heat the vehicle body surface and black out tape using a heat light.

    2. Pull back an edge of the black out tape and pull it parallel to the vehicle body to remove it.

  14. REMOVE NO. 2 BLACK OUT TAPE LH

    1. Heat the vehicle body surface and black out tape using a heat light.

    2. Pull back an edge of the black out tape and pull it parallel to the vehicle body to remove it.
