NAME PLATE INSTALLATION

Tech Tips

When installing the symbol emblem, name plate and fender emblem, heat the vehicle body, symbol emblem, name plate and fender emblem using a heat light.

Standard
Item Temperature
Vehicle Body 40 to 60°C (104 to 140°F)
Symbol Emblem 20 to 30°C (68 to 86°F)
Name Plate 20 to 30°C (68 to 86°F)
Fender Emblem 20 to 30°C (68 to 86°F)

Note

Do not heat the vehicle body, symbol emblem, name plate or fender emblem excessively.

PROCEDURE


  1. INSTALL SYMBOL EMBLEM

    *2 Boss

    1. Clean the vehicle body surface.


      1. Using a heat light, heat the vehicle body surface.

      2. Remove the double-sided tape from the vehicle body.

      3. Wipe off any tape adhesive residue with cleaner.

    2. Install a new symbol emblem.


      1. Using a heat light, heat the vehicle body and a new symbol emblem.

      2. Remove the peeling paper from the face of the symbol emblem.

        Tech Tips

        After removing the peeling paper, keep the exposed adhesive free from foreign matter.

      3. Align the boss positions and install the symbol emblem.

        Tech Tips

        Press the symbol emblem firmly to install it.

  2. INSTALL BACK DOOR NAME PLATE


    1. Clean the vehicle body surface.


      1. Using a heat light, heat the vehicle body surface.

      2. Remove the double-sided tape from the vehicle body.

      3. Wipe off any tape adhesive residue with cleaner.

    2. Install a new back door name plate.


      1. Using a heat light, heat the vehicle body and a new back door name plate.

      2. Remove the peeling paper from the face of the back door name plate.

        Tech Tips

        After removing the peeling paper, keep the exposed adhesive free from foreign matter.

      3. Install the back door name plate in the position shown in the installation.

  3. INSTALL NO. 2 BACK DOOR NAME PLATE


    1. Clean the vehicle body surface.


      1. Using a heat light, heat the vehicle body surface.

      2. Remove the double-sided tape from the vehicle body.

      3. Wipe off any tape adhesive residue with cleaner.

    2. Install a new No. 2 back door name plate.


      1. Using a heat light, heat the vehicle body and a new No. 2 back door name plate.

      2. Remove the peeling paper from the face of the No. 2 back door name plate.

        Tech Tips

        After removing the peeling paper, keep the exposed adhesive free from foreign matter.

      3. Install the No. 2 back door name plate in the position shown in the installation.
