AUTOMATIC HIGH BEAM SYSTEM UTILITY

Note

  • If "Recognition Camera/Target Position Memory" and "Recognition Camera Axis Adjust" are not performed, all of the systems using the pre-collision city sensor may be affected.

  • When the pre-collision city sensor has been replaced, or removed and reinstalled, "Recognition Camera/Target Position Memory" and "Recognition Camera Axis Adjust" must be performed.

  • When vehicle toe-in adjustment has been performed, "Recognition Camera/Target Position Memory" and "Recognition Camera Axis Adjust" must be performed.

  • When replacing the windshield glass with the pre-collision city sensor installed, make sure to replace it with a genuine windshield glass made for the pre-collision city sensor. Windshield glass assemblies other than genuine windshield glass assemblies made for the pre-collision city sensor do not have a camera installation bracket. Therefore, the pre-collision city sensor cannot be installed. If the camera is mounted on a windshield glass that is not a genuine windshield glass made for the pre-collision city sensor, none of the systems using the pre-collision city sensor may operate properly because of the opacity of the window glass and the shape of black ceramic parts.

Tech Tips

The pre-collision city sensor recognizes the white lines in relation to the vehicle on the basis of coordinates derived from the traveling direction of the vehicle. These coordinates differ for each vehicle depending on the tolerance and installation position of the pre-collision city sensor to the vehicle. Therefore, pre-collision city sensor beam axis adjustment must be performed individually for each vehicle.

  1. RECOGNITION CAMERA/TARGET POSITION MEMORY

    1. Before performing "Recognition Camera Axis Adjust", store the pre-collision city sensor position information, target position information and vehicle information in the pre-collision city sensor.

  2. RECOGNITION CAMERA AXIS ADJUST

    1. After storing the "Recognition Camera/Target Position Memory", further calibrate the stored data.

      Tech Tips

      • Since there is an error in the internal data derived from the stored pre-collision city sensor position (horizontal and vertical coordinates, etc.), calibrating the internal data captured in the pre-collision city sensor improves the pre-collision sensitivity of the pre-collision city sensor.

  3. ENTER CONTROL MODE

    1. When reproducing the problem symptom of the pre-crash safety system function, do not operate the pre-collision city sensor brake and only operate the warning (operations and buzzer sounding).

      Tech Tips

When reproducing the problem symptom of the pre-collision safety system function, actually operating the pre-collision brake would be dangerous. To avoid this, when triggering operation of the pre-collision safety system function, do not operate the pre-collision brake and only operate the warning.

  4. PCS IMAGE RECORD SETTING

    1. Set the PCS image storage to valid or invalid.

      Tech Tips

      • When the pre-collision brake operates, image data is stored in the pre-collision city sensor.

      • The stored image information cannot be viewed.

  5. PCS IMAGE INFORMATION CLEAR

    1. Clear the PCS image information stored in the pre-collision city sensor.

  6. HISTORY CLEAR

    1. When the history data status is "ON", clear the history.
