FRONT WIPER MOTOR ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION

PROCEDURE


  1. INSPECT FRONT WIPER MOTOR AND LINK ASSEMBLY (for LHD)


    1. A002M6SE02

      Operate the front wipers while spraying washer fluid on the windshield glass. Make sure that the front wipers function properly and the wipers do not come into contact with the vehicle body.

      Standard
      Area Standard Condition
      *1 Approx. 25.0 mm (0.984 in.)
      *2 Approx. 51.6 mm (2.03 in.)

    2. Stop the front wiper motor and link assembly operation.

      Check the automatic stop position.

      OK
      The front wipers stop at the positions shown in the illustration.
      Standard
      Area Standard Condition
      A 26.1 to 41.1 mm (1.03 to 1.62 in.)
      B Approx. 29.7 mm (1.17 in.)
      C 17.5 to 32.5 mm (0.689 to 1.28 in.)
      D Approx. 25.0 mm (0.984 in.)

      If the result is not as specified, remove and reinstall the wiper arm and blade assembly, and perform the on-vehicle inspection described above to inspect the wiper motor and link assembly again.

      If the result is not as specified again, inspect the wiper motor and link assembly with it removed from the vehicle body Click here.

  2. INSPECT FRONT WIPER MOTOR AND LINK ASSEMBLY (for RHD)

      Operate the front wipers while spraying washer fluid on the windshield glass. Make sure that the front wipers function properly and the wipers do not come into contact with the vehicle body.

      Area Standard Condition
      *1 Approx. 25.0 mm (0.984 in.)
      *2 Approx. 51.6 mm (2.03 in.)

    2. Stop the front wiper motor and link assembly operation.
