PROCEDURE


  1. PRECAUTION

    Note

    After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal notice before proceeding with work.

  2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

    Note

    When disconnecting the cable some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

  3. REMOVE TONNEAU COVER ASSEMBLY (w/ Tonneau Cover)

  4. REMOVE NO. 1 DECK BOARD (w/o Rear No. 2 Seat)

    1. Detach the 5 clips and remove the No. 2 deck board.

  6. REMOVE DECK BOARD ASSEMBLY (w/ Rear No. 2 Seat)

    1. Detach the 4 claws and 6 clips, and remove the deck board.

  7. REMOVE FRONT DECK FLOOR BOX (w/o Rear No. 2 Seat)

    1. Remove the 3 bolts and front deck floor box.

  8. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRAY (w/ Rear No. 2 Seat, w/ Spare Tire)

    1. Remove the luggage compartment tray.

  9. REMOVE DECK RAIL COVER (w/ Rear No. 2 Seat, w/o Spare Tire)

    2. Detach the 2 claws and 2 guides, and remove the deck rail cover.

  10. REMOVE LOWER DECK TRIM SIDE BOARD LH (w/o Rear No. 2 Seat)

    1. Pull the upper part of the garnish toward the inside of the cabin and detach the 2 clips.

      Tech Tips

      Allow the front pillar garnish to hang by the front pillar garnish clip.

      Cut the front pillar garnish clip.

    3. Detach the 2 claws and remove the front pillar garnish.

    4. Using a clip remover, remove the remaining front pillar garnish clip on the body side.

      *2 Adhesive Tape
      *3 Protective Cover

      w/ Curtain Shield Airbag:

      Protect the curtain shield airbag assembly.


      1. Completely cover the airbag with a cloth or nylon sheet and secure the ends of the cover with adhesive tape as shown in the illustration.

        Note

        Cover the curtain shield airbag with a protective cover as soon as the front pillar garnish is removed.

    1. Turn the visor holder clockwise approximately 45° and pull it out as shown in the illustration.

    2. Detach the 2 claws and remove the visor holder.

    1. Using a clip remover, detach the 4 claws.

      Note

      Do not forcibly pry the assist grip plugs to prevent them from being deformed.

      • Gently pry the assist grip plugs as shown in the illustration to detach the claws.

      • Tape the clip remover tip before use.

    2. Pull off the 2 assist grip plugs by hand.

    4. Remove the 2 clips from the vehicle body.

      Note

      Do not forcibly pry the assist grip plugs to prevent them from being deformed.

      • Tape the clip remover tip before use.

    2. Pull off the 2 assist grip plugs by hand.
