FRONT SEAT CUSHION HEATER INSPECTION

PROCEDURE


  1. INSPECT FRONT SEAT CUSHION HEATER ASSEMBLY LH


    1. Check the front seat cushion heater assembly LH.

        Component without harness connected

        (Front Seat Cushion Heater Assembly LH)

        Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Standard Resistance
        Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
        A1 - B2

        17 to 23°C

        (63 to 73°F)

        		 1.52 to 1.86 Ω

        If the result is not as specified, replace the front seat cushion heater assembly LH.

    2. Check the thermostat.


      1. Apply battery voltage to the seat cushion heater and check that the seat cushion heater thermostat operates.

        OK
        Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition

        Battery positive (+) → A1

        Battery negative (-) → B2

        		 Always Seat cushion heater temperature below 44°C (111°F)

        If the result is not as specified, replace the front seat cushion heater assembly LH.

        Note

        Immediately after confirming that the seat heater is functioning normally, disconnect the battery leads. Failing to do so may cause the seat cushion heater to overheat.

  2. INSPECT FRONT SEAT CUSHION HEATER ASSEMBLY RH


    1. Check the front seat cushion heater assembly RH.

        Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Standard Resistance
        Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
        A2 - B1

        17 to 23°C

        (63 to 73°F)

        		 1.52 to 1.86 Ω

        If the result is not as specified, replace the front seat cushion heater assembly RH.

    2. Check the thermostat.


      1. Apply battery voltage to the seat cushion heater and check that the seat cushion heater thermostat operates.

        OK
        Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition

        Battery positive (+) → A1

        Battery negative (-) → B2

        		 Always Seat cushion heater temperature below 44°C (111°F)

        If the result is not as specified, replace the front seat cushion heater assembly RH.

        Note

        Immediately after confirming that the seat heater is functioning normally, disconnect the battery leads. Failing to do so may cause the seat cushion heater to overheat.
