  2. SYSTEM DESCRIPTION

    1. The power door lock system locks/unlocks all doors.

      • The door control switch of the master switch uses the LIN communication line to send lock/unlock request signals to the main body ECU.

      • The driver door key cylinder lock/unlock request signals are sent to the main body ECU from the driver side door lock.

      • The main body ECU receives the request signals and locks/unlocks each door.

The door control system has the following functions:

      Function Outline
Manual lock and unlock function Locks/unlocks all the doors by the door control switch lock operation (manual operation).
      Key-linked lock and unlock function

Linked with the door key cylinder.

Locks/unlocks all the doors when the lock/unlock operation is possible.

      Key lock-in prevention function

When the door control transmitter is in the vehicle, performing the door lock operation with the lock switch on the outer handle will not lock the door and will sound a buzzer.*1

When the key is inserted in the ignition key cylinder and the door lock operation is performed, all the doors are unlocked.*2

Collision door lock release If the SRS has been deployed and the main body ECU has detected the signal that is output from the airbag sensor, the main body ECU unlocks all the doors.
      Speed-sensitive automatic door lock function

When the conditions listed below are met consecutively, this function causes all the doors to be automatically locked.

      • All the doors are closed.

      • Any one of the doors is unlocked.

      • The vehicle speed is higher than approximately 20 km/h (12 mph).

      Note

The speed-sensitive automatic door lock function will operate only once when the vehicle speed reaches 20 km/h (12 mph) or more. After the doors are unlocked with the shift-linked automatic door unlock function, etc., even if the vehicle speed reaches 20 km/h (12 mph) or more again, the speed-sensitive automatic door lock function will not operate. However, if a door is opened after the vehicle stops, or if the ignition switch is turned off, the speed-sensitive automatic door lock function will operate when the vehicle speed reaches 20 km/h (12 mph) or more again.

      Shift-linked automatic door lock*3, *4

When all the conditions listed below are met, this function causes all the doors to automatically lock:

      • The ignition switch is ON.

      • All the doors are closed.

      • The shift lever is moved out of P.

Shift-linked automatic door unlock*3, *4 When the ignition switch is ON, if the shift lever is moved to P from any other position, all the doors are automatically unlocked.
Door open-linked automatic door unlock*3 When the driver side door is opened within 43 seconds after the ignition switch is turned off, the other doors are unlocked.
      Double locking function*5

This system prevents the doors from being unlocked by the operation of the inside door knobs. The doors cannot be opened from the inside or outside of the vehicle.

Pressing the transmitter's lock switch twice within 5 seconds activates this system and locks the doors. If the battery of the transmitter is depleted, only the driver door can be opened with the key; however, doing so causes the theft deterrent system alarm to sound.

      CAUTION:

The doors cannot be opened from the inside of vehicle. Never activate this system when someone is inside the vehicle. If this system is activated accidentally, press the transmitter UNLOCK switch.

      • *3: This function is off by default. It can be enabled with the customize function.

      • *4: except Manual Transaxle

      • *5: w/ Double Locking System
