DESCRIPTION

The rotation angle sensor detects the motor rotation angle and sends this information to the power steering ECU.

PROCEDURE


  1. READ VALUE USING GTS (MOTOR ROTATION ANGLE)


    1. Turn the ignition switch off.

    2. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    3. Start the engine.

    4. Turn the GTS on.

    5. Enter the following menus: Chassis / EMPS / Data List.

      Motor rotation angle/

      Min.: 0.000 deg

      Max.: 360.000 deg

      		 Motor rotation angle value changes from 0 to 360° The engine is running and the steering wheel is being turned.

      During steering operation, motor rotation angle value changes from 0 to 360°.

  2. CHECK CONNECTOR CONNECTION CONDITION

      Check the connection condition of the z17 rotation angle sensor connector.

      Rotation angle sensor connector is securely connected to the power steering ECU.

  3. CHECK STEERING COLUMN

      Disconnect the z17 rotation angle sensor connector from the power steering ECU.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      z17-3 (R1) - z17-5 (R2) at 25°C (77°F) 60 to 180 Ω
      z17-9 (S1) - z17-8 (S3) at 25°C (77°F) 217 to 651 Ω
      z17-7 (S2) - z17-6 (S4) at 25°C (77°F) 217 to 651 Ω
