PROCEDURE
TEMPORARILY INSTALL REAR DISC BRAKE BLEEDER PLUG
Temporarily install the bleeder plug to the brake cylinder.
Tech Tips
Tighten the rear disc brake bleeder plug after bleeding any air left in the system.
INSTALL REAR DISC BRAKE BLEEDER PLUG CAP
Install the bleeder plug cap to the bleeder plug.
INSTALL PISTON SEAL
| *1 | Lithium soap base glycol grease |
Apply a light coat of lithium soap base glycol grease to the entire inner and outer circumference of a new piston seal.
Install the piston seal to the disc brake cylinder assembly.
Note
Make sure the piston seal is securely installed to the groove of the disc brake cylinder assembly.
INSTALL REAR DISC BRAKE PISTON

Apply a light coat of lithium soap base glycol grease to the entire inner and outer circumference of a new cylinder boot.
Apply a light coat of lithium soap base glycol grease to the entire outer circumference of the rear disc brake piston where it contacts the rear disc brake cylinder.
Install the cylinder boot to the rear disc brake piston.
Install the rear disc brake piston to the disc brake cylinder assembly.
Note
Do not forcibly install the piston to the disc brake cylinder assembly.
INSTALL CYLINDER BOOT

Using SST and a hammer, install the boot to the rear disc brake cylinder assembly.
Note
Make sure the cylinder boot is securely installed to the groove of the disc brake cylinder and piston.
Do not damage the cylinder boot.
