RESET MEMORY / CALIBRATION
Note
Performing reset memory will clear the learned values of both the yaw rate sensor (deceleration sensor zero point calibration) and CVT oil pressure (CVT oil pressure calibration). Make sure to perform reset memory, yaw rate sensor zero point calibration and CVT oil pressure calibration when replacing any of the parts shown in the following table.
| Replaced Part |
|---|
|
After performing reset memory, always perform yaw rate sensor (deceleration sensor zero point) calibration first, and then CVT oil pressure calibration.
Perform reset memory as follows:
Turn the ignition switch off.
Move the shift lever to P and apply the parking brake.
Connect the GTS to the DLC3.
Turn the ignition switch to ON.
Note
Do not start the engine.
Turn the GTS on.
Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Utility / Reset Memory.
Note
Keep the vehicle stopped, level and stable during the calibration (Inclination: 0 +/- 0.25°).
Make sure that the shift lever is in P.
Make sure that the engine is stopped. To prevent idling vibrations, do not start the engine.
Make sure that the ignition switch is ON.
Perform deceleration sensor zero point calibration as follows:
Turn the ignition switch to ON and wait at least 2 seconds.
Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Utility / Deceleration Sensor Zero Point Calibration.
Tech Tips
When "Complete" is displayed on the screen, deceleration sensor zero point calibration is complete.
If "Error" is displayed on the screen and DTC P1589 is output (for the detection conditions for DTC P1589), refer to P1589 as the yaw rate sensor circuit may be malfunctioning Click here.
Shaking or vibrating the vehicle during deceleration sensor zero point calibration may cancel calibration. If "Error" is displayed on the screen and DTC P1589 is not output, perform calibration again.
Perform CVT oil pressure calibration as follows:
Turn the ignition switch off and wait at least 30 seconds.
Turn the ignition switch to ON and wait at least 2 seconds.
Note
Do not start the engine.
Tech Tips
CVT oil pressure calibration is performed with the ignition switch ON (engine stopped). However, the calibration cannot be performed under the following conditions:
Oil pressure sensor value is 0.065 MPa (0.663 kgf/cm2, 9.43 psi) or higher.
CVT oil temperature is 0°C (32°F) or less or 120°C (248°F) or higher.
Start the engine and wait at least 5 seconds.
Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Utility / CVT Oil Pressure Calibration.
Tech Tips
During CVT oil pressure calibration, the engine idle speed will increase.
When "Complete" is displayed on the screen, CVT oil pressure calibration is complete.
The learned values cannot be cleared by only disconnecting and reconnecting the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal.
ATF THERMAL DEGRADATION ESTIMATE RESET
Note
If either of the following conditions is met, perform ATF Thermal Degradation Estimate Reset.
The CVT fluid has been replaced.
Tech Tips
If 50000 or more is displayed for the Data List item "ATF Thermal Degradation Estimate", thermal degradation of the CVT fluid is suspected. Perform ATF Thermal Degradation Estimate Reset after replacing the CVT fluid.
Approximately 50% or more of the CVT fluid has been replaced during a repair of the transaxle or a similar operation.
Turn the ignition switch off.
Connect the GTS to the DLC3.
Turn the ignition switch to ON.
Note
Do not start the engine.
Turn the GTS on.
Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Utility / ATF Thermal Degradation Estimate Reset.
