STOP AND START SYSTEM FAIL-SAFE CHART

If any of the following DTCs are stored, the engine stop and start ECU enters fail-safe mode to preserve vehicle operability.

P0335	Open in engine speed signal circuit	Stop and start control is prohibited Engine is automatically restarted if a DTC is stored while the engine is stopped by stop and start control	All of the following conditions continue for 10 seconds: Normal communication with ECM Engine speed 500 rpm or higher Engine speed (communication signal) 500 rpm or higher Difference between engine speed from pulse signal and engine speed from communication signal is less than 100 rpm After returning to the normal state, turn the ignition switch to ON again.
P0560	Open in VB circuit	Stop and start control is prohibited Engine is automatically restarted if a DTC is stored while the engine is stopped by stop and start control	After returning to the normal state, turn the ignition switch to ON again.
P0562	Power source circuit Low battery voltage	Stop and start control is prohibited Engine is automatically restarted if a DTC is stored while the engine is stopped by stop and start control	Both of the following conditions continue for at least 3 seconds while the engine is stopped by stop and start control and the generator is not generating electricity: +B voltage 11.5 V or higher Engine stopped
P0607	Engine stop and start ECU	Stop and start control is prohibited Engine is automatically restarted if a DTC is stored while the engine is stopped by stop and start control	After returning to the normal state, turn the ignition switch to ON again.
P060A	Engine stop and start ECU	Stop and start control is prohibited Engine is automatically restarted if a DTC is stored while the engine is stopped by stop and start control	After returning to the normal state, turn the ignition switch to ON again.
P060B	Analog to digital converter (Engine stop and start ECU)	Stop and start control is prohibited Engine stalls	After returning to the normal state, turn the ignition switch to ON again.
P0617	ST relay circuit	Stop and start control is prohibited	After returning to the normal state and clearing DTCs.
P062F	Engine stop and start ECU	Stop and start control is prohibited Engine is automatically restarted if a DTC is stored while the engine is stopped by stop and start control	Number of starter operations and air conditioning information are registered correctly. After returning to the normal state, turn the ignition switch to ON again.
P0641	Engine stop and start ECU	Stop and start control is prohibited Engine stalls	After returning to the normal state, turn the ignition switch to ON again.
P1540	Vacuum sensor assembly circuit	Stop and start control is prohibited Engine is automatically restarted if a DTC is stored while the engine is stopped by stop and start control	Sensor output is within standard range. After returning to the normal state, turn the ignition switch to ON again.
P1541	Vacuum sensor assembly Brake booster assembly Check valve to connector tube hose (brake booster hose)	Stop and start control is prohibited Engine is automatically restarted if a DTC is stored while the engine is stopped by stop and start control	Either of the following conditions is met: Vacuum changes while the brake pedal is depressed There is a specified number of times that vacuum changes while the vehicle is being driven faster than a certain vehicle speed After returning to the normal state, turn the ignition switch to ON again.
P1545	Starter assembly Starter circuit	Stop and start control is prohibited Engine is automatically restarted if a DTC is stored while the engine is stopped by stop and start control	After clearing the number of starter operations stored in the ECU (after replacing the starter) and DTCs. Communication with ECM returns to normal and either of the following conditions (a) and (b) are met: STA signal is ON at the ECD system and STA signal is ON at the stop and start system (remains ON for 0.3 seconds). STA signal is OFF at the ECD system and STA signal is OFF at the stop and start system (remains OFF for 5 seconds or more). After returning to the normal state, turn the ignition switch to ON again.
P1589	Deceleration sensor zero point calibration incomplete	Stop and start control is prohibited Engine is automatically restarted if a DTC is stored while the engine is stopped by stop and start control	After returning to the normal state, turn the ignition switch to ON again.
P1644	Starter drive circuit ST relay Engine stop and start ECU (STA circuit)	Stop and start control is prohibited Engine is automatically restarted if a DTC is stored while the engine is stopped by stop and start control	The voltage conditions in the ECU internal drive circuit for starter are correctly recognized when the engine is idling and restarted. After returning to the normal state, turn the ignition switch to ON again.
P1780	Neutral position sensor (Neutral position switch)	Stop and start control is prohibited	After returning to the normal state, turn the ignition switch to ON again.
P1862	Clutch start switch assembly (for lower) Clutch switch assembly (for upper)	Stop and start control is prohibited Engine is automatically restarted if a DTC is stored while the engine is stopped by stop and start control	Clutch pedal switch assemblies (for upper and lower) remain off for 0.5 seconds or more. After returning to the normal state, turn the ignition switch to ON again.
P2531	Ignition switch circuit	Stop and start control is prohibited Engine is automatically restarted if a DTC is stored while the engine is stopped by stop and start control	Both of the following conditions continue for at least 10 seconds: Ignition switch ON Normal communication with ECM After returning to the normal state, turn the ignition switch to ON again.
P323B	Backup boost converter circuit	Stop and start control is prohibited Engine is automatically restarted if a DTC is stored while the engine is stopped by stop and start control	After returning to the normal state, turn the ignition switch to ON again.
U0100	CAN communication (ECM)	Stop and start control is prohibited Engine is automatically restarted if a DTC is stored while the engine is stopped by stop and start control	Communication with engine stop and start ECU continues for 1.6 seconds. After returning to the normal state, turn the ignition switch to ON again.
U0121	CAN communication (skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly))	Stop and start control is prohibited Engine is automatically restarted if a DTC is stored while the engine is stopped by stop and start control	Communication with engine stop and start ECU continues for 4.44 seconds. After returning to the normal state, turn the ignition switch to ON again.
U0123	CAN communication (yaw rate sensor)	Stop and start control is prohibited Engine is automatically restarted if a DTC is stored while the engine is stopped by stop and start control	Communication with engine stop and start ECU continues for 1.6 seconds.
U0126	CAN communication (steering angle sensor (spiral with sensor cable sub-assembly))	Stop and start control is prohibited Engine is automatically restarted if a DTC is stored while the engine is stopped by stop and start control	Communication with engine stop and start ECU continues for 1.44 seconds.
U0131	CAN communication (power steering ECU assembly)	Stop and start control is prohibited Engine is automatically restarted if a DTC is stored while the engine is stopped by stop and start control	Communication with engine stop and start ECU continues for 1.6 seconds. After returning to the normal state, turn the ignition switch to ON again.
U0140	CAN communication (main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU))	Stop and start control is prohibited Engine is automatically restarted if a DTC is stored while the engine is stopped by stop and start control	Communication with engine stop and start ECU continues for 7.2 seconds. After returning to the normal state, turn the ignition switch to ON again.
U0151	CAN communication (center airbag sensor assembly)	Stop and start control is prohibited Engine is automatically restarted if a DTC is stored while the engine is stopped by stop and start control	Communication with engine stop and start ECU continues for 21.2 seconds. After returning to the normal state, turn the ignition switch to ON again.
U0155	CAN communication (combination meter assembly)	Stop and start control is prohibited Engine is automatically restarted if a DTC is stored while the engine is stopped by stop and start control	Communication with engine stop and start ECU continues for 21.2 seconds. After returning to the normal state, turn the ignition switch to ON again.
U0164	CAN communication (air conditioning amplifier assembly)	Stop and start control is prohibited Engine is automatically restarted if a DTC is stored while the engine is stopped by stop and start control	Communication with engine stop and start ECU continues for 21.2 seconds. After returning to the normal state, turn the ignition switch to ON again.
