DESCRIPTION

This circuit provides power to operate the windshield wiper switch. The manual operation signals are sent to the No. 2 multiplex network body ECU.

PROCEDURE


  1. READ VALUE USING GTS


    1. Using the GTS, read the Data List.

      ON: Rear wiper switch in LO

      OFF: Rear wiper switch not in LO

      OFF: Rear wiper switch not in INT

      Rear Washer Switch Rear washer switch / ON or OFF

      ON: Rear washer switch on

  2. INSPECT WINDSHIELD WIPER SWITCH ASSEMBLY


    1. Remove the windshield wiper switch assembly Click here.

    2. Inspect the windshield wiper switch assembly Click here.

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (WINDSHIELD WIPER SWITCH - NO. 2 BODY ECU AND BODY GROUND)


    1. Disconnect the E15 and E16 windshield wiper switch assembly connector.

    2. Disconnect the L33 No. 2 multiplex network body ECU connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      E15-3 (+1R) - L33-4 (WRLO) Always Below 1 Ω
      E15-2 (C1R) - L33-18 (WRIN)
      E16-5 (WR) - L33-5 (WRSW)
      E15-4 (EW) - Body ground
      E15-3 (+1R) or L33-4 (WRLO) - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher
      E15-2 (C1R) or L33-18 (WRIN) - Body ground
      E16-5 (WR) or L33-5 (WRSW) - Body ground
