TAIL GATE ADJUSTMENT

PROCEDURE


  1. INSPECT TAIL GATE PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. Check that the clearance measurements of area A to B are within the standard range.

      A 3.35 to 6.35 mm (0.132 to 0.250 in.) B 1.9 to 5.9 mm (0.0748 to 0.232 in.)

  2. ADJUST TAIL GATE PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. Loosen the hinge bolts.

    2. A01WTZQ

      Adjust the tail gate by moving it up and down and left and right so that the dimensions are within the specified range.

    3. Tighten the hinge bolts.

      Torque:
      28 N*m  { 286 kgf*cm, 21 ft.*lbf }
    4. A01WSUQ

      Loosen the hinge bolts.

    5. Adjust the tail gate by moving it up and down and forward and backward so that the dimensions are within the specified range.

    6. Tighten the hinge bolts.

      Torque:
      31 N*m  { 316 kgf*cm, 23 ft.*lbf }

  3. ADJUST DOOR LOCK STRIKER


    1. A01WPZR

      Using a T40 "TORX" socket, adjust the striker position by slightly loosening the striker mounting screws and hitting the striker with a plastic-faced hammer.

    2. Using a T40 "TORX" socket, tighten the striker mounting screws after the adjustment.

      Torque:
      23 N*m  { 235 kgf*cm, 17 ft.*lbf }

  4. ADJUST REAR SWING GATE LOCK STRIKER


    1. A01WV7W

      Check that the door fit and door linkages are adjusted correctly.

    2. Using a T40 "TORX" socket, adjust the striker position by slightly loosening the striker mounting screws and hitting the striker with a plastic-faced hammer.

    3. Using a T40 "TORX" socket, tighten the striker mounting screws after the adjustment.

      Torque:
      23 N*m  { 235 kgf*cm, 17 ft.*lbf }
