BACK DOOR SUPPORT REMOVAL

Note


  • While holding the back door, remove the back door support.

  • Do not touch the extendable portion of the rod to prevent foreign objects from attaching to the rod surface.

  • Do not push sideways on the rod because the rod may bend.

  • Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side.

  • The procedures listed below are for the LH side.

PROCEDURE


  1. REMOVE BACK DOOR STAY ASSEMBLY LH


    1. A01WSUU

      Using a thin-bladed screwdriver with its tip wrapped in protective tape, remove the stop rings along their grooves.

    2. Detach the ball joint.

    3. Remove the 2 bolts and back door stay assembly LH.

      CAUTION:

      Remove the door stay while supporting the back door with one hand.

  2. REMOVE BACK DOOR STAY BOLT

      Remove the back door stay bolt.

  3. REMOVE UPPER BACK DOOR DAMPER STAY BRACKET LH


    1. A01WTVL

      Using a thin-bladed screwdriver with its tip wrapped in protective tape, remove the stop rings along their grooves.

    2. Remove the bolts and upper back door damper stay bracket LH from the back door stay assembly LH.
