DESCRIPTION

The refreshing seat switch communicates with the air conditioning amplifier assembly through LIN communication system.

If the LIN communication system malfunctions, the air conditioning amplifier assembly does not operate even if the refreshing seat switch is operated.

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (REFRESHING SEAT SWITCH LH - BATTERY AND BODY GROUND)

      Disconnect the refreshing seat switch LH connector.

    2. Measure the voltage and resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage
      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      V9-1 (IG) - V9-10 (E) Engine switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V
      V9-1 (IG) - V9-10 (E) Engine switch off Below 1 V
      Standard Resistance

      V9-10 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY - REFRESHING SEAT SWITCH LH)


    1. Disconnect the E36 air conditioning amplifier assembly connector.

    2. Disconnect the V9 refreshing seat switch LH connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      E36-28 (BLIN) - V9-3 (SW) Always Below 1 Ω
      E36-28 (BLIN) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

  5. REPLACE REFRESHING SEAT SWITCH LH


    1. Temporarily replace the refreshing seat switch LH with a new or normally functioning one Click here.
