SEAT HEATER SYSTEM TERMINALS OF ECU


  1. CHECK AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY

    A01WQ97E05

    1. Disconnect the E36 air conditioning amplifier connector assembly.

    2. Measure the resistance and voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Terminal No. (Symbol) Wiring Color Terminal Description Condition Specified Condition
      E36-6 (+B1) - Body ground LG - Body ground Battery power supply Always 11 to 14 V
      E36-5 (IG+) - Body ground G - Body ground Ignition power supply Engine switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V
      E36-1 (GND) -Body ground BR - Body ground Ground Always Below 1 Ω

    3. Reconnect the E36 air conditioning amplifier connector assembly.

    4. Measure the waveform using an oscilloscope according to the value(s) in the table below.

      E36-20 (RLIN) - Body ground* GR - Body ground Cooler control switch signal

      Engine switch on (IG)

      Cooler control switch on

      		 Pulse generation
      E36-31 (SHPE) - Body ground* B - Body ground Cooler control switch volume signal

      Engine switch on (IG)

      Cooler control switch on
