REAR POWER SEAT CONTROL SYSTEM(for Rear No. 2 Seat with Automatic Folding-up Function) SYSTEM DESCRIPTION

  1. FOLDING-UP SEAT DESCRIPTION

    • The folding-up seat function electrically and mechanically stows and returns the rear No. 2 seat when the fold seat switch is operated.

    • This system is used for both the left and right seats. Each system operates independently.

  2. FUNCTIONS OF MAIN COMPONENT

    Component Function

    Folding-up Motor

    (Seat Cushion Position Sensor)

The fold seat control ECU provides the voltage that is used to operate the folding-up motor. The folding-up motor stows and returns the rear No. 2 seat. (A Hall type position sensor is installed in the folding-up motor to detect the seat cushion position.)

    Closer Motor

(Seat Fixing Lock Switch, No. 1 Closer Motor Position Slide Switch, No. 2 Closer Motor Position Slide Switch)

The fold seat control ECU provides the voltage that is used to operate the closer motor. The closer motor locks and releases the rear No. 2 seat when it is stowed. (The seat fixing lock switch, and No. 1 and No. 2 closer motor position slide switches are built into the closer motor. The seat fixing lock switch detects the lock/release status of the rear No. 2 seat when it is stowed, and the No. 1 and No. 2 closer motor position slide switches detect the position of the closer motor.)
Floor Release Motor The fold seat control ECU provides the voltage that is used to operate the floor release motor. The floor release motor releases the rear No. 2 seat from the floor.
No. 1 Back Release Motor and No. 2 Back Release Motor The fold seat control ECU provides the voltage that is used to operate the No. 1 back release motor and No. 2 back release motor. The No. 1 and No. 2 back release motors release the seatback of the rear No. 2 seat when it is locked in the original position.
Seatback Area Switch The seatback area switch detects the position of the seatback (original position, table position).
No. 1 Seatback Lock Switch and No. 2 Seatback Lock Switch The No. 1 and No. 2 seatback lock switches detect the lock/release status of the seatback.
No. 1 Floor Striker Limit Switch and No. 2 Floor Striker Limit Switch The No. 1 and No. 2 floor striker limit switches detect whether the rear No. 2 seat is locked to the floor.
Fold Seat Switch Sends a rear No. 2 seat table, fold, or return operation signal to the fold seat control ECU when operated. The rear No. 2 seat is folded down, stowed, or returned to the original position based on this signal.
