PROCEDURE


  1. DISPOSE OF NO. 2 SEAT STAY SUB-ASSEMBLY

    1. Horizontally fix the seat stay in a vise with the piston rod pulled out.

    2. Wear safety glasses. Gradually cut an area between A and B shown in the illustration using a metal saw and gradually release the gas.

      Standard
      Area Specified Condition
      a 80 mm (3.15 in.)
      b 10 mm (0.394 in.)

      CAUTION:

      As metal debris may be blown outward by the gas, you must:


      • Wear protective glasses.

      • Cover the area being cut.

      Note

      The gas inside the seat stay is colorless, odorless and harmless. There is a possibility that metal debris could scatter, so cover the part with a piece of cloth or other material.
