METER / GAUGE SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK


  1. INSPECT INDICATOR/WARNING LIGHT


    1. Check the following indicators and warning lights.

  2. INSPECT SPEEDOMETER


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Data List.

      If the result is not as specified, the speedometer may have a malfunction.

      Note

      Do not use worn, underinflated or overinflated tires, as the speedometer reading will be inaccurate.

    5. Check the deflection width of the speedometer indicator.

    6. INSPECT TACHOMETER


      1. Connect a tune-up tachometer, and start the engine.

      2. Compare the test results with the tachometer indicator.

    7. DC 13.5 V, at 25°C (77°F):
      Standard indication (rpm)

      Acceptable range

      Data in ( ) is for reference

      (700) (630 to 770)
      1000 (900 to 1100)
      2000 (1850 to 2150)
      3000 2800 to 3200
      4000 (3800 to 4200)
      5000 4800 to 5200
      6000 (5750 to 6250)

If the result is not as specified, the tachometer may have a malfunction.

  • INSPECT METER/GAUGE


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Perform Active Test Click here.

    3. INSPECT WARNING/INDICATOR LIGHT


      1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

      2. Perform Active Test Click here.

    4. INSPECT ENGINE OIL LEVEL WARNING


      1. Turn the engine switch on (IG) and warm up the engine at an engine speed of 2000 rpm or less until the coolant temperature reaches approximately 80°C (176°F) or more.

      2. Disconnect the engine oil level sensor connector for 40 seconds or more.

      3. Turn the engine switch on (IG) and check the multi-information display.

    5. INSPECT MULTI-INFORMATION DISPLAY


      1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

      2. Perform Active Test Click here.

        Tech Tips

        If this Active Test is being performed and the engine switch is turned off and then on (IG), the A/T and ODO/TRIP display background may turn white. If this occurs, end the Active Test and turn the engine switch off.
