LIGHTING SYSTEM Engine Switch Illumination Circuit

DESCRIPTION

The illuminated entry system controls the engine switch illumination.

PROCEDURE


  1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING GTS


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Entry&Start / Active Test.

    5. Perform the Active Test according to the display on the GTS.

  2. INSPECT ENGINE SWITCH


    1. Remove the engine switch.


    2. Inspect the engine switch.

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ENGINE SWITCH - ECU AND BODY GROUND)


    1. Disconnect the E151 certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) connector.

    2. Disconnect the E134 engine switch connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      E134-9 (SWIL) - E151-17 (SWIL) Always Below 1 Ω
      E134-6 (AGND) - E151-12 (AGND) Always Below 1 Ω
      E134-9 (SWIL) or E151-17 (SWIL) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      E134-6 (AGND) or E151-12 (AGND) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
