LIGHTING SYSTEM Door Illumination Circuit

DESCRIPTION

The main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) controls the operation of the following lights:

Note


  • Inspect the fuses for circuits related to this system before performing the following inspection procedure.

  • If the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) is replaced, refer to Service Bulletin.

  • As the door control battery is installed between the vehicle battery and main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU), first perform the inspections in On-vehicle Inspection to confirm that there are no malfunctions in the power source circuit for the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) before performing this troubleshooting procedure Click here.

PROCEDURE


  1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING GTS (INTERIOR ILLUMINATION LIGHT1)


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Main Body / Active Test.

    5. Perform the Active Test according to the display on the GTS.

      *: 15 seconds after turning the engine switch off, check the operation once the rear door illumination turns off.

      Door illumination illuminates.

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (BATTERY - DOOR TRIM BOARD SUB-ASSEMBLY)


    1. Disconnect the m2, m5, n1 and n3 No. 1 interior illumination light assembly connector.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      m2-1 (+) - Body ground Always 10.5 to 16 V
      m5-1 (+) - Body ground Always 10.5 to 16 V
      n1-1 (+) - Body ground Always 10.5 to 16 V
      n3-1 (+) - Body ground Always 10.5 to 16 V

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (DOOR TRIM BOARD SUB-ASSEMBLY - MAIN BODY ECU (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU)

    1. Disconnect the m2, m5, n1 and n3 No. 1 interior illumination light assembly connector.

    2. Disconnect the E117 main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) connector.

    3. Remove the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) from the junction block assembly LH.

    4. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      E117-21 (LED1) - m2-2 (-) Always Below 1 Ω
      E117-21 (LED1) - m5-2 (-) Always Below 1 Ω
      E117-21 (LED1) - n1-2 (-) Always Below 1 Ω
      E117-21 (LED1) - n3-2 (-) Always Below 1 Ω
      E117-21 (LED1) or m2-2 (-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      E117-21 (LED1) or m5-2 (-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      E117-21 (LED1) or n1-2 (-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

  4. CHECK DOOR TRIM BOARD SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. Replace the door trim board sub-assembly with a new or known good one.


    2. Check that each function of the No. 1 interior illumination light assembly operates normally.

  5. CHECK COWL SIDE JUNCTION BLOCK LH


    1. Remove the cowl side junction block LH.


    2. Remove the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) from the cowl side junction block LH.


    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
