LIGHTING SYSTEM Door Courtesy Switch Circuit

DESCRIPTION

The main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) receives a door open or closed signal from each door courtesy light switch.

Note


  • Inspect the fuses for circuits related to this system before performing the following inspection procedure.

  • If the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) is replaced, refer to Service Bulletin.

  • As the door control battery is installed between the vehicle battery and main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU), first perform the inspections in On-vehicle Inspection to confirm that there are no malfunctions in the power source circuit for the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) before performing this troubleshooting procedure Click here.

PROCEDURE


  1. READ VALUE USING GTS (DOOR COURTESY LIGHT SWITCH)


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Main Body / Data List.

    5. Read the Data List according to the display on the GTS.

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (REAR DOOR COURTESY LIGHT SWITCH RH - COWL SIDE JUNCTION BLOCK LH)


    1. Disconnect the L2 rear door courtesy light switch RH connector.

    2. Disconnect the 2J cowl side junction block LH connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      L2-1 - 2J-29 Always Below 1 Ω
      L2-1 or 2J-29 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

  4. INSPECT COWL SIDE JUNCTION BLOCK LH


    1. Remove the cowl side junction block LH.


    2. Remove the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) from the cowl side junction block LH.


    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

    1. Disconnect the K3 rear door courtesy light switch LH connector.

    2. Disconnect the 2K cowl side junction block LH connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      K3-1 - 2K-34 Always Below 1 Ω
      K3-1 or 2K-34 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

  7. INSPECT COWL SIDE JUNCTION BLOCK LH


    1. Remove the cowl side junction block LH.


    2. Remove the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) from the cowl side junction block LH.


    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
