DESCRIPTION
The LIN communication of the components related to the rear heater occurs between the air conditioning amplifier (A/C ECU) and No. 2 air conditioning control assembly.
Tech Tips
"Rear heater control panel" refers to the rear air conditioning control panel.

Note
When using the intelligent tester with the engine switch off to troubleshoot:
Connect the intelligent tester to the vehicle, and turn a courtesy switch on and off at 1.5 second intervals until communication between the intelligent tester and vehicle begins.
PROCEDURE
CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER - NO. 2 AIR CONDITIONING CONTROL)
Disconnect the E36 amplifier connector.
Disconnect the r1 or r2 air conditioning connector.
Measure the resistance and voltage according to the value(s) in the tables below.

Disconnect the r1 or r2 air conditioning connector.
