PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (TELEMATICS TRANSCEIVER - MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY)


    1. Disconnect the R7 map light assembly connector.

    2. Disconnect the P2 telematics transceiver connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      R7-12 (RRID) - P2-9 (SLED) Always Below 1 Ω
      R7-16 (GND9) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      R7-12 (RRID) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

  2. INSPECT MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY


    1. Remove the map light assembly Click here.

    2. Connect 4 1.5 V dry-cell batteries in series.

    3. B00185FE02

      Connect a positive lead from the batteries to terminal 12 (RRID), and a negative lead to terminal 16 (GND9) of the map light assembly connector.

    4. Check if the illumination for the emergency call switch comes on.
