Note
After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal notice before proceeding with work Click here.
DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
REMOVE LOWER STEERING COLUMN COVER
REMOVE UPPER STEERING COLUMN COVER
REMOVE LOWER NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL AIRBAG ASSEMBLY
INSPECT TELESCOPIC MOTOR
Inspect the tilt motor:
Disconnect the tilt motor connector.
Apply 12 V battery voltage to the tilt motor connector. Then check the steering wheel tilt operation.

| 12 V battery positive (+) lead → Terminal 1 (TIM+) 12 V battery negative (-) lead → Terminal 2 (TIM-) |
The steering wheel tilts up. |
| 12 V battery negative (-) lead → Terminal 1 (TIM+) 12 V battery positive (+) lead → Terminal 2 (TIM-) |
The steering wheel tilts down. |
If the result is not as specified, replace the steering column assembly.
Inspect the telescopic motor:
Disconnect the telescopic motor connector.
Apply 12 V battery voltage to the telescopic motor connector. Then check the steering column telescopic operation.

If the result is not as specified, replace the steering column assembly.

CHECK SRS WARNING LIGHT
CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
