Tech Tips


  • Use the same procedure for the LH side and RH side.

  • The procedures listed below are for the LH side.

PROCEDURE


  1. INSTALL PARKING BRAKE ANCHOR BLOCK


    1. A01WUCA

      Install the parking brake anchor block with the 2 nuts.

      Torque:
      86 N*m  { 877 kgf*cm, 63 ft.*lbf }

  2. CONNECT NO. 3 PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY


    1. A01WWAG

      Connect the No. 3 parking brake cable assembly with the bolt.

      Torque:
      8.0 N*m  { 82 kgf*cm, 71 in.*lbf }

  3. INSTALL PARKING BRAKE SHOE LEVER LH

      B0018FC High-temperature grease

      Apply high-temperature grease to the parking brake anchor block.

    2. Install the parking brake shoe lever to the No. 3 parking brake cable assembly.

      Note

      Be carefully to distinguish between the parking brake shoe lever RH and LH.

  4. APPLY HIGH-TEMPERATURE GREASE

      Apply high-temperature grease to the areas of the backing plate that contact the shoe.

  5. INSTALL NO. 2 PARKING BRAKE SHOE ASSEMBLY LH

      Using SST, install the No. 2 parking brake shoe assembly LH with the shoe hold down spring pin, compression spring and shoe hold down spring cup.

  6. INSTALL NO. 1 PARKING BRAKE SHOE ASSEMBLY LH


    1. A01WRAQ

      Apply high-temperature grease to the thread and all joining areas of the shoe adjuster screw set.

      Set the No. 1 parking brake shoe assembly LH and shoe adjuster screw set in place.

      Connect the tension spring.

    4. A01WWFHE01

      Using SST, install the shoe hold down spring pin, compression spring and shoe hold down spring cup.

  7. INSTALL PARKING BRAKE SHOE RETURN SPRING

      Using SST, install the parking brake shoe return spring.

  8. CHECK PARKING BRAKE INSTALLATION


    1. Check that each part is installed properly.

  9. INSTALL REAR DISC LH

      While aligning the matchmarks, install the rear disc.

  10. CONNECT REAR DISC BRAKE CYLINDER ASSEMBLY LH

      Connect the rear disc brake cylinder assembly LH with 2 new bolts.

      Torque:
      154 N*m  { 1570 kgf*cm, 114 ft.*lbf }

      Note


      • Do not twist the brake hose.

      • Make sure that the bolts are free from damage and foreign matter.

      • Do not overtighten the bolts.

  11. ADJUST PARKING BRAKE LEVER TRAVEL

  12. INSTALL REAR WHEEL LH

    Torque:
    131 N*m  { 1336 kgf*cm, 97 ft.*lbf }
