DESCRIPTION

The parking brake ECU assembly performs the lock/release operation of the parking brake based on signals from the electric parking brake switch assembly, or instruction signals from other systems via CAN communication.

Both of following conditions are met:


  1. Engine switch on (IG) or electric parking brake switch assembly pulled to lock side with engine switch off.

  2. Parking brake ECU assembly power source relay is shorted for approx. 60 sec.


  • EPB-IG fuse*

  • Parking brake ECU assembly

  • Wire harness or connector

  • Electric parking brake switch assembly

An electric parking brake system malfunction is displayed on the multi-information display.

  • If the parking brake ECU assembly is replaced, perform the "Reset Memory" and "Acquire Tension Sensor Zero Point" procedures Click here.

  • Before disconnecting connectors or fuses, turn the engine switch off and wait 20 seconds or more.

  • Inspect the fuses for circuits related to this system before performing the following inspection procedure.

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (PARKING BRAKE ECU - IG POWER SOURCE CIRCUIT)


    1. Turn the engine switch off.

      Disconnect the parking brake ECU assembly connector.

    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

  2. INSPECT ELECTRIC PARKING BRAKE SWITCH ASSEMBLY


    1. Remove the electric parking brake switch assembly Click here.

    2. Inspect the electric parking brake switch assembly Click here.

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (PARKING BRAKE ECU - ELECTRIC PARKING BRAKE SWITCH ASSEMBLY)


    1. Turn the engine switch off.

    2. Disconnect the V13 electric parking brake switch assembly connector.

    3. Disconnect the parking brake ECU assembly connector.

      Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
