C13A2/22 Engine / Power Switch Malfunction

DESCRIPTION

When the engine switch is turned on (IG), power is supplied to the parking brake ECU assembly. This DTC is stored if the IG power source is not input to the parking brake ECU assembly when communication with other ECUs occurs.

Both of the following conditions are met:


  1. Engine switch on (IG)

  2. When the ECM communicates with the deceleration sensor (airbag sensor assembly) via CAN communication, IG power supply is not received for approx. 3 seconds.

  • EPB-IG fuse*

  • Wire harness or connector

  • IG power source circuit

  • Parking brake ECU assembly

 An electric parking brake system malfunction is displayed on the multi-information display.

Note


  • If the parking brake ECU assembly or parking brake with bracket actuator assembly is replaced, perform the "Reset Memory" and "Acquire Tension Sensor Zero Point" procedures Click here.

  • Before disconnecting connectors or fuses, turn the engine switch off and wait 20 seconds or more.

  • Inspect the fuses for circuits related to this system before performing the following inspection procedure.

PROCEDURE


  1. READ VALUE USING GTS (IG STATUS/IG SWITCH)


    1. Turn the engine switch off.

    2. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    3. Turn the engine switch on (IG) and the GTS on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Chassis / Electric Parking Brake / Data List.

    5. Check the values by referring to the table below.

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (PARKING BRAKE ECU - COWL SIDE JUNCTION BLOCK LH)


    1. Turn the engine switch off.

    2. Disconnect the K52 and K53 parking brake ECU assembly connectors.

    3. Disconnect the 2K cowl side junction block LH connector.

    4. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      K53-4 (IG) - 2K-26 Always Below 1 Ω
      K53-4 (IG) or 2K-26 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      K52-3 (GND1) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
