DESCRIPTION

The parking brake cable tightening/loosening operation is performed by the parking brake with bracket actuator assembly's motor.

Both of following conditions are met:


  1. Engine switch is on (IG), or when engine switch is off, electric parking brake switch assembly lock control is operating

  2. Power supply voltage and +B voltage are normal, but motor circuit is malfunctioning for approx. 1 sec.


  • Parking brake with bracket actuator assembly

  • Wire harness or connector

  • Parking brake ECU assembly

An electric parking brake system malfunction is displayed on the multi-information display.

Note


  • If the parking brake ECU assembly or parking brake with bracket actuator assembly is replaced, perform the "Reset Memory" and "Acquire Tension Sensor Zero Point" procedures Click here.

  • Before disconnecting connectors or fuses, turn the engine switch off and wait 20 seconds or more.

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (PARKING BRAKE ECU - PARKING BRAKE WITH BRACKET ACTUATOR)


    1. Turn the engine switch off.

    2. Disconnect the K52 parking brake ECU assembly connector.

    3. Disconnect the N15 parking brake with bracket actuator assembly connector.

    4. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      K52-2 (M+) - N15-7 (M+) Always Below 1 Ω
      K52-1 (M-) - N15-6 (M-) Always Below 1 Ω
      K52-2 (M+) or N15-7 (M+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      K52-1 (M-) or N15-6 (M-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

  2. INSPECT PARKING BRAKE WITH BRACKET ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY (MOTOR)


    1. Turn the engine switch off.

      Disconnect the N15 parking brake with bracket actuator assembly connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
