REAR BRAKE FLEXIBLE HOSE INSTALLATION

Tech Tips


  • Use the same procedures for the LH side and RH side.

  • The procedures listed below are for the LH side.

PROCEDURE


  1. INSTALL NO. 6 FLEXIBLE HOSE BRACKET


    1. A01WPG7

      Install the bracket with the bolt.

      Torque:
      29 N*m  { 296 kgf*cm, 21 ft.*lbf }
  2. INSTALL REAR FLEXIBLE HOSE


    1. Connect the flexible hose to the connecting point with each brake tube, and then install 2 new clips.

      *1 Fulcrum Length
      *2 Union Nut Wrench
    2. Using a union nut wrench, connect each brake tube to the flexible hose while holding the flexible hose with a wrench.

      Torque:
      without union nut wrench
      15 N*m  { 155 kgf*cm, 11 ft.*lbf }
      with union nut wrench
      14 N*m  { 145 kgf*cm, 10 ft.*lbf }

      Tech Tips


      • Use a torque wrench with a fulcrum length of 300 mm (11.8 in.).

      • The torque value for use with a union nut wrench is effective when the union nut wrench is parallel to the torque wrench.

      Note


      • Do not bend or damage the brake tube.

      • Do not allow any foreign matter such as dirt and dust to enter the brake tube from the connecting point.

    3. Connect the flexible hose to the connecting point with each brake tube, and then install 2 new clips.

      *2 Union Nut Wrench
    4. Using a union nut wrench, connect each brake tube to the flexible hose while holding the flexible hose with a wrench.

      Torque:
      without union nut wrench
      15 N*m  { 155 kgf*cm, 11 ft.*lbf }
      with union nut wrench
      14 N*m  { 145 kgf*cm, 10 ft.*lbf }

      *1 Fulcrum Length
      *2 Union Nut Wrench

      Connect the flexible hose to the connecting point with the brake tube, and then install a new clip.

    2. Using a union nut wrench, connect the brake tube to the flexible hose while holding the flexible hose with a wrench.

      Torque:
      without union nut wrench
      15 N*m  { 155 kgf*cm, 11 ft.*lbf }
      with union nut wrench
      14 N*m  { 145 kgf*cm, 10 ft.*lbf }

      Install the flexible hose and a new gasket to the disc brake cylinder with the new union bolt.

      Torque:
      30 N*m  { 306 kgf*cm, 22 ft.*lbf }

      Tech Tips

      Install the flexible hose lock securely in the lock hole in the cylinder.

  5. INSTALL REAR WHEEL

    Torque:
    131 N*m  { 1336 kgf*cm, 97 ft.*lbf }
