PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK CENTER DIFFERENTIAL LOCK INDICATOR LIGHT


    1. Turn the engine switch on (IG).

    2. Check the center differential lock indicator light.

    3. Press the center differential lock switch.

    4. After 60 seconds, check the center differential lock indicator light.

      Result
      Result Proceed to
      The center differential lock indicator light blinks, turns off or illuminates A
      Center differential lock indicator light remains off regardless of switch operation B
      Center differential lock indicator remains illuminated regardless of switch operation C
      Center differential lock indicator light rapidly blinks D

      • Blinking: Blinks at 0.5 second intervals (0.5 seconds on and 0.5 seconds off)

      • Rapidly blinking: Blinks at 0.25 second intervals (0.25 seconds on and 0.25 seconds off)

    1. Select "Bus Check" from the System Selection Menu screen, and follow the prompts on the screen to inspect the CAN bus (for LHD: See page , for RHD: Click here.

  3. READ VALUE USING GTS (CENTER DIFFERENTIAL LOCK SWITCH)


    1. Turn the engine switch off.

    2. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Turn the engine switch on (IG).

    5. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Four Wheel Drive / Data List.

    6. According to the display on the GTS, read the Data List.

  4. INSPECT COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY


    1. Turn the engine switch off.

    2. Perform an Active Test of the combination meter assembly using the GTS Click here.

    3. Check the combination meter assembly.

      OK
      The center differential lock indicator light turns on or off in accordance with the GTS.

  5. INSPECT INTEGRATION CONTROL AND PANEL ASSEMBLY


    1. Remove the center differential lock switch (integration control and panel assembly) Click here.

    2. Inspect the center differential lock switch (integration control and panel assembly) Click here.

      OK
      The center differential lock switch (integration control and panel assembly) operates normally.

    REPLACE INTEGRATION CONTROL AND PANEL ASSEMBLY Click here

  6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (4 WHEEL DRIVE CONTROL ECU - INTEGRATION CONTROL AND PANEL ASSEMBLY)


    1. Disconnect the A27 4 wheel drive control ECU connector.

    2. Disconnect the V12 center differential lock switch (integration control and panel assembly) connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A27-14 (DL) - V12-18 (CPU) Always Below 1 Ω
      V12-1 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

      • Blink3: Indicator light rapidly blinks

      • ON: Indicator light illuminates

      • OFF: Indicator light turns off

      • Blinking: 0.5 second intervals (0.5 seconds on and 0.5 seconds off)

      • Rapidly blinking: 0.25 second intervals (0.25 seconds on and 0.25 seconds off)

      1. Turn the center differential lock switch (integration control and panel assembly) on and off several times and check the GTS display condition of the center differential lock indicator light.
