ATF TEMPERATURE SENSOR INSPECTION

PROCEDURE


  1. INSPECT TEMPERATURE SENSOR

    Component without harness connected

    (Temperature Sensor)

    1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      1 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      2 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    2. Immerse the sender portion of the temperature sensor in the Toyota Genuine ATF that has been prepared in a container.

    3. While warming the Toyota Genuine ATF, measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection ATF Temperature Specified Condition
      1 - 2 20°C (68°F) 10.3 to 13.9 kΩ
      115°C (239°F) 657.1 to 726.3 Ω

      CAUTION:

      Do not overheat. Otherwise, fire may occur.

      If the result is not as specified, replace the temperature sensor.
