AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION SYSTEM Shift Paddle Switch Circuit

DESCRIPTION

When the shift lever is in S, the shift range can be changed using the shift paddle switches. It is also possible to select the shift range when the vehicle is being driven with the shift lever in D by operating the shift paddle switches.

PROCEDURE


  1. READ VALUE USING GTS (SPORTS SHIFT UP SW AND SPORTS SHIFT DOWN SW)


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Data List.

    5. In accordance with the display on the GTS, read the Data List.

      Disconnect the ECM connector.

    2. Disconnect the E52 transmission control switch (transmission floor shift assembly) connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      for LHD:

      A85-38 (SFTU) - Body ground "+" shift paddle operated (up-shift) Below 2.5 Ω
      A85-37 (SFTD) - Body ground "-" shift paddle operated (down-shift) Below 2.5 Ω

    2. Disconnect the A85 ECM connector (for LHD).

    3. Disconnect the A86 ECM connector (for RHD).

    4. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      for LHD:

      E102-1 (SDN) - A85-37 (SFTD) Always Below 1 Ω
      E102-8 (SUP) - A85-38 (SFTU) Always Below 1 Ω
      E102-1 (SDN) or A85-37 (SFTD) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      E102-8 (SUP) or A85-38 (SFTU) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      for RHD:
