GLOW PLUG REMOVAL

CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

Note


  • When replacing an injector assembly (including interchanging injector assemblies between cylinder sub-assembly) or common rail assembly, replace the corresponding injection pipe sub-assemblies with new ones.

  • w/ DPF

    When fuel lines are disconnected, air may enter the fuel lines, leading to engine starting trouble. Therefore, perform forced regeneration and bleed the air from the fuel lines.

  1. PRECAUTION

    Note

    After turning the engine switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal notice before proceeding with work Click here.

  2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

    Note

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Click here.

  3. REMOVE INTERCOOLER ASSEMBLY

  4. REMOVE INJECTION PIPES

  5. REMOVE NO. 1 GLOW PLUG CONNECTOR


    1. Remove the 2 glow plug screw grommets and 2 nuts, and disconnect the 2 wire harnesses.

      Remove the 8 glow plug screw grommets, 8 nuts and 2 No. 1 glow plug connectors.

  6. REMOVE GLOW PLUG ASSEMBLY

      Using a 10 mm deep socket wrench, remove the 8 glow plug assemblies.

      Tech Tips

      Before removing the glow plug assemblies, thoroughly clean off all dirt, sand, etc.
