THERMOSTAT REMOVAL

PROCEDURE


  1. PRECAUTION

    Note

    After turning the engine switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal notice before proceeding with work Click here.

  2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

    Note

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Click here.


    1. Disconnect the cables from the negative (-) main battery and sub-battery terminals.

  3. REMOVE UPPER RADIATOR SUPPORT SEAL

  4. REMOVE FRONT FENDER APRON SEAL FRONT RH

    Click here

  5. REMOVE FRONT FENDER SPLASH SHIELD SUB-ASSEMBLY LH

    Click here

  6. REMOVE FRONT FENDER SPLASH SHIELD SUB-ASSEMBLY RH

    Click here

  7. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY

    Click here

  8. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT

    Click here

  9. REMOVE NO. 3 ENGINE ROOM WIRE


    1. Disconnect the 4 wire harness clamps.

    2. Remove the 2 nuts and No. 3 engine room wire.

  10. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY

  11. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CAP SUB-ASSEMBLY

  12. REMOVE NO. 1 AIR CLEANER HOSE

    Click here

  13. REMOVE INTAKE AIR CONNECTOR

    Click here

  14. REMOVE VANE PUMP OIL RESERVOIR ASSEMBLY

      Insert a screwdriver between the vane pump oil reservoir assembly and oil reservoir bracket, push the claw, and then disconnect the vane pump oil reservoir assembly by pulling it upwards.

  15. REMOVE NO. 1 OIL RESERVOIR BRACKET

      Remove the 2 bolts and No. 1 oil reservoir bracket.

  16. REMOVE RADIATOR RESERVOIR ASSEMBLY

      *2 No. 2 Water By-pass Hose
      *3 Water Inlet

      Slide the clip and disconnect the No. 1 water by-pass hose from the radiator assembly.

    2. Slide the clip and disconnect the No. 2 water by-pass hose from the water inlet.

    3. Remove the 3 bolts and radiator reservoir assembly.

  17. REMOVE VANE PUMP ASSEMBLY

      Remove the 2 nuts and vane pump assembly.

    2. Remove the O-ring from the vane pump assembly.

  18. DISCONNECT NO. 1 RADIATOR HOSE

  19. DISCONNECT NO. 2 RADIATOR HOSE

  20. REMOVE V-RIBBED BELT (w/ Viscous Heater)

  21. REMOVE NO. 1 IDLER PULLEY (w/ Viscous Heater)

    Click here

  22. REMOVE NO. 3 IDLER PULLEY (w/ Viscous Heater)

    Click here

  23. REMOVE V-RIBBED BELT

    Click here

  24. REMOVE OIL COOLER TUBE

    Click here

  25. REMOVE FAN SHROUD WITH FAN

      Loosen the 4 nuts holding the fluid coupling fan.

    2. B00183B

      Remove the 2 bolts holding the fan shroud.

    3. B0018UN

      Remove the 4 nuts of the fluid coupling fan, and then remove the shroud together with the fluid coupling fan.

  26. REMOVE FAN PULLEY

  27. DISCONNECT HEATER WATER PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY (w/ Viscous Heater)

      Slide the clip and disconnect the 2 hoses from the viscous heater with magnet clutch.

    2. Remove the 4 bolts and disconnect the heater water pipe sub-assembly.

  28. REMOVE VISCOUS WITH MAGNET CLUTCH HEATER ASSEMBLY (w/ Viscous Heater)

  29. REMOVE NO. 1 IDLER PULLEY BRACKET (w/ Viscous Heater)

      Remove the bolt and No. 1 idler pulley bracket.

  30. REMOVE WATER INLET

      Disconnect the No. 2 oil cooler hose from the water pump and clamp.

    2. B00195Z

      Remove the 4 bolts and water inlet.

  31. REMOVE THERMOSTAT


    1. Remove the thermostat.

    2. Remove the gasket from the thermostat.
