EXHAUST PIPE(w/ DPF) REMOVAL

CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

CAUTION:


  • Wear protective gloves and protective glasses when removing the exhaust pipe assembly.

  • The exhaust pipe assembly is extremely hot immediately after the engine has stopped.

  • Confirm that the exhaust pipe assembly has cooled down before removing it.

PROCEDURE


  1. REMOVE AIR FUEL RATIO SENSOR

  2. REMOVE FRONT FENDER APRON SEAL REAR RH


    1. Using a clip remover, remove the 4 clips and front fender apron seal rear RH.

  3. REMOVE FRONT FENDER APRON SEAL REAR LH


    1. Using a clip remover, remove the 4 clips and front fender apron seal rear LH.

  4. REMOVE NO. 2 ENGINE UNDER COVER

      Remove the 6 bolts and No. 2 engine under cover from the frame.

  5. REMOVE TAILPIPE ASSEMBLY


    1. Remove the bolt, clamp and gasket.

    2. Disconnect the tailpipe assembly from the 2 exhaust pipe supports.

  6. REMOVE CENTER EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY


    1. Remove the 4 bolts and 2 compression springs.

    2. Disconnect the center exhaust pipe assembly from the 3 exhaust pipe supports.

    3. Remove the gasket from the No. 5 exhaust pipe assembly and front exhaust pipe assembly.

  7. REMOVE OIL PAN PROTECTOR ASSEMBLY LH

  9. REMOVE FRONT EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY

      Slide the 2 clips and disconnect the 2 air hoses from the front exhaust pipe assembly.

    2. Disconnect the exhaust gas temperature sensor connector and detach the clamp.

    3. Remove the 3 nuts and front exhaust pipe assembly from the monolithic converter assembly.

    4. Remove the gasket.

  10. REMOVE NO. 5 EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY


    1. Remove the 2 nuts and No. 5 exhaust pipe assembly from the front No. 2 exhaust pipe assembly.

    2. Remove the gasket.

  11. REMOVE FRONT NO. 2 EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY

      Slide the 2 clips and disconnect the 2 air hoses from the front No. 2 exhaust pipe assembly.

    2. Disconnect the exhaust gas temperature sensor connector and detach the clamp.

    3. Remove the 3 nuts and front No. 2 exhaust pipe assembly from the monolithic converter assembly LH.

    4. Remove the gasket.

  12. REMOVE NO. 4 EXHAUST GAS TEMPERATURE SENSOR

  13. REMOVE MONOLITHIC CONVERTER ASSEMBLY

      Disconnect the 2 exhaust gas temperature sensor connectors and detach the 4 clamps.

    2. A01WV0Z

      Remove the 3 bolts and manifold stay from the transmission assembly.

    3. Remove the 3 nuts and monolithic converter assembly from the turbocharger sub-assembly.

    4. Remove the gasket from the turbocharger sub-assembly.

  14. REMOVE FRONT PROPELLER SHAFT ASSEMBLY

  15. REMOVE MONOLITHIC CONVERTER ASSEMBLY LH

      Disconnect the 2 exhaust gas temperature sensor connectors and detach the 4 clamps.

    2. A01WTRD

      Remove the 3 bolts and No. 2 manifold stay from the transmission assembly.

    3. Remove the 3 nuts and monolithic converter assembly LH from the No. 2 turbocharger sub-assembly.

    4. Remove the gasket from the turbocharger sub-assembly.
