ENGINE UNIT REMOVAL

PROCEDURE

1. REMOVE ENGINE WIRE

   

   
   

   1. Engine LH Side:

      
      

      1. Disconnect the 2 camshaft timing control valve connectors.

      2. Disconnect the 4 ignition coil connectors.

      3. Disconnect the 2 VVT sensor connectors.

      4. Disconnect the camshaft position sensor connector.

      5. Disconnect the vacuum switching valve connector (for ACIS).

      6. Disconnect the purge VSV connector.

      7. Disconnect the engine coolant temperature sensor connector.

      8. Disconnect the fuel injector connector.

      9. Disconnect the noise filter connector.

      10. Remove the bolt and disconnect the 7 clamps.

   2. 

      Engine RH Side:

      
      

      1. Disconnect the 2 camshaft timing control valve connectors.

      2. Disconnect the 4 ignition coil connectors.

      3. Disconnect the 2 VVT sensor connectors.

      4. Disconnect the fuel injector connector.

      5. Disconnect the noise filter connector.

      6. Disconnect the throttle sensor connector.

      7. Disconnect the oil pressure sender gauge connector.

      8. Disconnect the oil level sensor connector.

      9. Disconnect the 9 clamps.

   3. 

      *1	for LHD:
      *2	for RHD:

      Engine Rear Side:

      
      

      1. w/ Secondary Air Injection System:

         Disconnect the 2 air switching valve connectors.

      2. Disconnect the sensor wire connector.

      3. for LHD:

         Disconnect the 5 clamps.

      4. for RHD:

         Disconnect the 4 clamps.

      5. Remove the 3 bolts.

   4. Remove the engine wire.

2. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY

3. REMOVE NO. 3 ENGINE COVER

   Click here

4. REMOVE NO. 1 FUEL HOSE

   

   
   

   1. Remove the fuel hose Click here.

5. DISCONNECT NO. 2 FUEL TUBE

   Click here

6. DISCONNECT NO. 1 FUEL TUBE

   Click here

7. REMOVE FUEL DELIVERY PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY LH

   Click here

8. REMOVE FUEL DELIVERY PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY RH

   Click here

9. REMOVE FUEL INJECTOR ASSEMBLY

   Click here

10. REMOVE INTAKE MANIFOLD

    
    

    1. 

       Disconnect the ventilation hose from the ventilation pipe of the cylinder head cover LH and RH.

    2. 

       Disconnect the 2 water by-pass hoses.

    3. 

       Disconnect the No. 1 ventilation hose.

    4. 

       Remove the bolt and wire bracket from the intake manifold.

    5. 

       Remove the 2 nuts, 8 bolts, intake manifold and 2 gaskets.

11. REMOVE NO. 2 FUEL TUBE

    

    
    

    1. Remove the 2 bolts and No. 2 fuel tube.

12. REMOVE NO. 1 FUEL TUBE

    

13. REMOVE NO. 2 ENGINE COVER

14. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE COVER

    Click here

15. REMOVE NO. 2 WATER BY-PASS PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY (w/ Oil Cooler)

16. REMOVE NO. 1 WATER BY-PASS HOSE

    Click here

17. REMOVE FRONT WATER BY-PASS JOINT

    Click here

18. REMOVE AIR PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY (w/ Secondary Air Injection System)

    
    

    1. 

       Remove the 2 bolts, air pipe and 2 No. 1 air hoses.

19. REMOVE WATER INLET HOUSING

    Click here

20. REMOVE WATER BY-PASS PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY

    

    
    

    1. Remove the 2 bolts and water by-pass pipe.

21. REMOVE AIR SWITCHING VALVE ASSEMBLY (w/ Secondary Air Injection System)

22. REMOVE NO. 2 AIR TUBE (w/ Secondary Air Injection System)

    Click here

23. REMOVE NO. 3 AIR TUBE (w/ Secondary Air Injection System)

    Click here

24. REMOVE SENSOR WIRE

    

    
    

    1. Disconnect the 4 knock sensor connectors.

    2. Disconnect the 3 clamps. Then remove the sensor wire.

25. REMOVE SEPARATOR CASE

    
    

    1. 

       Remove the 4 bolts and separator case.

26. REMOVE KNOCK SENSOR

    
    

    1. 

       Remove the 4 bolts and 4 knock sensors.

27. REMOVE CYLINDER BLOCK WATER DRAIN COCK SUB-ASSEMBLY

    

    
    

    1. Remove the 2 water drain cock plugs from the water drain cocks.

    2. Remove the 2 water drain cocks from the cylinder block.

28. REMOVE FRONT NO. 1 ENGINE MOUNTING BRACKET RH

    

    
    

    1. Remove the 4 bolts and mounting bracket.

29. REMOVE FRONT NO. 1 ENGINE MOUNTING BRACKET LH

    

    
    

    1. Remove the 4 bolts and mounting bracket.

30. REMOVE IGNITION COIL ASSEMBLY

    
    

    1. 

       Remove the 8 bolts and 8 ignition coils.

31. REMOVE NOISE FILTER

    
    

    1. LH:

       Remove the bolt and noise filter from the cylinder head cover.

    2. RH:

       Remove the bolt and noise filter from the cylinder head cover.
