FRONT CRANKSHAFT OIL SEAL INSTALLATION

PROCEDURE

1. INSTALL FRONT CRANKSHAFT OIL SEAL

   
   

   1. Apply MP grease to the lip of a new oil seal.

   2. 

      Using SST and a hammer, tap in the oil seal to a depth between 0 and 1.0 mm (0 and 0.0394 in.) from the timing chain cover edge.

      Note

      
      

      • Keep the lip free from foreign matter.

      • Do not tap the oil seal at an angle.

2. INSTALL CRANKSHAFT TIMING GEAR KEY

   
   

   1. 

      Install the crankshaft timing gear key.

3. INSTALL CRANKSHAFT PULLEY

4. INSTALL OIL FILTER BRACKET (w/ Oil Cooler)

   Click here

5. INSTALL NO. 1 OIL COOLER BRACKET (w/ Oil Cooler)

   Click here

6. CONNECT NO. 2 WATER BY-PASS PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY (w/ Oil Cooler)

   
   

   1. 

      Connect the 2 water by-pass hoses to the oil cooler.

   2. Install the 3 by-pass pipe bolts.

      Torque:

      10 N*m  { 102 kgf*cm, 7 ft.*lbf }

7. CONNECT COOLER COMPRESSOR ASSEMBLY (w/ Oil Cooler)

8. INSTALL OIL FILTER BRACKET (w/o Oil Cooler)

   Click here

9. INSTALL OIL PRESSURE SENDER GAUGE ASSEMBLY

   Click here

10. INSTALL FAN SHROUD

    Click here

11. INSTALL NO. 1 RADIATOR HOSE

12. ADD ENGINE COOLANT

    Click here

13. INSPECT FOR COOLANT LEAK

    Click here

14. INSPECT FOR OIL LEAK

15. INSPECT ENGINE OIL LEVEL

16. INSTALL NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY

17. INSTALL FRONT FENDER SPLASH SHIELD SUB-ASSEMBLY LH

18. INSTALL FRONT FENDER SPLASH SHIELD SUB-ASSEMBLY RH

19. INSTALL V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY

20. INSTALL UPPER RADIATOR SUPPORT SEAL
