FRONT CRANKSHAFT OIL SEAL REMOVAL

PROCEDURE


  1. REMOVE UPPER RADIATOR SUPPORT SEAL

  2. REMOVE V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY

    Click here

  3. REMOVE FRONT FENDER SPLASH SHIELD SUB-ASSEMBLY LH

    Click here

  4. REMOVE FRONT FENDER SPLASH SHIELD SUB-ASSEMBLY RH

    Click here

  5. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY

    Click here

  6. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT

    Click here

  7. REMOVE NO. 1 RADIATOR HOSE

  8. REMOVE FAN SHROUD

    Click here

  9. REMOVE OIL PRESSURE SENDER GAUGE ASSEMBLY

    Click here

  10. REMOVE OIL FILTER BRACKET (w/o Oil Cooler)

    Click here

  11. DISCONNECT COOLER COMPRESSOR ASSEMBLY (w/ Oil Cooler)

    Click here

  12. DISCONNECT NO. 2 WATER BY-PASS PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY (w/ Oil Cooler)

      Remove the 3 bolts and disconnect the 2 water by-pass hoses from the oil cooler.

  13. REMOVE NO. 1 OIL COOLER BRACKET (w/ Oil Cooler)

  14. REMOVE OIL FILTER BRACKET (w/ Oil Cooler)

    Click here

  15. REMOVE CRANKSHAFT PULLEY

    Click here

  16. REMOVE CRANKSHAFT TIMING GEAR KEY

      Remove the crankshaft timing gear key from the crankshaft.

  17. REMOVE FRONT CRANKSHAFT OIL SEAL

      Using a screwdriver, pry out the oil seal.

      Tech Tips

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

      Note

      Do not damage the surface of the oil seal press fit hole and crankshaft.
