ECD SYSTEM(w/o DPF) Injector Circuit

DESCRIPTION

The injector driver drives the injectors at high speeds with a high-voltage DC/DC converter. The ECM constantly monitors the injector driver and stops the engine if an abnormal condition is detected.

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (POWER SOURCE)

      *b for No. 1
      *c for No. 2

      Disconnect the EDU connector.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      No. 1
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      C105-8 (+B) - C104-1 (GND) Engine switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V
      No. 2
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      C107-8 (+B) - C106-1 (GND) Engine switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V
    3. Reconnect the injector driver connectors.

  2. INSPECT EDU RELAY

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (INJECTOR DRIVER - INTEGRATION RELAY)


    1. Remove the integration relay from the engine room relay block.

    2. Remove the EDU relay (EDU NO. 1 or EDU NO. 2).

    3. Disconnect the ECM connector.

    4. Disconnect the injector driver connector.

    5. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      for No. 1
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      1Q-11 - EDU NO. 1 relay (1) Always Below 1 Ω
      C105-8 (+B) - EDU NO. 1 relay (5) Always Below 1 Ω
      1Q-11 or EDU NO. 1 relay (1) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      C1058 (+B) or EDU NO. 1 relay (5) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      for No. 2
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      1N-12 - EDU NO. 2 relay (1) Always Below 1 Ω
      C107-8 (+B) - EDU NO. 2 relay (5) Always Below 1 Ω
      1N-12 - EDU NO. 2 relay (1) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      C107-8 (+B) or EDU NO. 2 relay (5) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ECM - INTEGRATION RELAY)


    1. Remove the integration relay from the engine room relay block and junction block assembly.

    2. Disconnect the ECM connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance (No. 1)
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A85-45 (IREL) - EDU NO. 1 relay (2) Always Below 1 Ω
      A85-45 (IREL) or EDU NO. 1 relay (2) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      Standard Resistance (No. 2)
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A85-46 (IRL2) - EDU NO. 2 relay (2) Always Below 1 Ω
      A85-46 (IRL2) or EDU NO. 2 relay (2) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
    4. Reconnect the ECM connector.

    5. Reinstall the integration relay.
