ROOF CARRIER REASSEMBLY

  • Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.

  • The procedure listed below is for the LH side.

PROCEDURE


  1. INSTALL ROOF RACK PROTECTOR LH

    Tech Tips

    When installing the roof rack protector LH, heat the roof carrier sub-assembly LH using a heat light.

    Standard
    Item Temperature
    Roof Carrier Sub-assembly LH 20 to 30°C (68 to 86°F)

    Note

    Do not heat the roof carrier sub-assembly LH excessively.


    1. Clean the roof carrier sub-assembly LH surface.


      1. Using a heat light, heat the roof carrier sub-assembly LH surface.

      2. Remove the double-sided tape from the roof carrier sub-assembly LH surface.

      3. Wipe off any tape adhesive residue with cleaner.

    2. Install a new roof rack protector LH.


      1. Using a heat light, heat the roof carrier sub-assembly LH surface.

      2. Remove the peeling paper from the face of the roof rack protector LH.

        Tech Tips

        After removing the peeling paper, keep the exposed adhesive free from foreign matter.

      3. Align the roof rack protector LH with the mark-off line of the roof carrier sub-assembly LH, and then install it.

        Tech Tips

        Press the roof rack protector firmly to install it.

  2. INSTALL NO. 2 ROOF CARRIER PROTECTOR

    Tech Tips

    When installing the No. 2 roof carrier protector, heat the roof carrier sub-assembly LH using a heat light.

    Standard
    Item Temperature
    Roof Carrier Sub-assembly LH 20 to 30°C (68 to 86°F)

    Note

    Do not heat the roof carrier sub-assembly LH excessively.


    1. Clean the roof carrier sub-assembly LH surface.


      1. Using a heat light, heat the roof carrier sub-assembly LH surface.

      2. Remove the double-sided tape from the roof carrier sub-assembly LH surface.

      3. Wipe off any tape adhesive residue with cleaner.

    2. Install a new No. 2 roof carrier protector.


      1. Using a heat light, heat the roof carrier sub-assembly LH surface.

      2. Remove the peeling paper from the face of the No. 2 roof carrier protector.

        Tech Tips

        After removing the peeling paper, keep the exposed adhesive free from foreign matter.

      3. Align the No. 2 roof carrier protector with the mark-off line of the roof carrier sub-assembly LH, and then install it.

        Tech Tips

        Press the No. 2 roof carrier protector firmly to install it.

  3. INSTALL NO. 2 ROOF CARRIER SEAL

    Tech Tips

    When installing the No. 2 roof carrier seal, heat the roof carrier sub-assembly LH using a heat light.

    Standard
    Item Temperature
    Roof Carrier Sub-assembly LH 20 to 30°C (68 to 86°F)

    Note

    Do not heat the roof carrier sub-assembly LH excessively.


    1. Clean the roof carrier sub-assembly LH surface.


      1. Using a heat light, heat the roof carrier sub-assembly LH surface.

      2. Remove the double-sided tape from the roof carrier sub-assembly LH surface.

      3. Wipe off any tape adhesive residue with cleaner.

    2. Install a new No. 2 roof carrier seal.


      1. Using a heat light, heat the roof carrier sub-assembly LH surface.

      2. Remove the peeling paper from the face of the No. 2 roof carrier seal.

        Tech Tips

        After removing the peeling paper, keep the exposed adhesive free from foreign matter.

      3. Install 6 new No. 2 roof carrier seals as shown in the illustration.

        Tech Tips

        Press the No. 2 roof carrier seal firmly to install it.

  4. INSTALL REAR ROOF RACK RETAINER LH


    1. A01WR7C

      Attach the claw to install a new rear roof rack retainer LH.

  5. INSTALL FRONT ROOF RACK RETAINER LH


    1. A01WPLT

      Attach the claw to install a new front roof rack retainer LH.

  6. INSTALL REAR ROOF RACK LEG CUSHION LH


    1. A01WWEQ

      Attach the clip to install the rear roof rack leg cushion LH.

  7. INSTALL FRONT ROOF RACK LEG CUSHION LH


    1. A01WUTC

      Attach the clip to install the front roof rack leg cushion LH.
