SIDE STEP REASSEMBLY

Tech Tips


  • Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side.

  • The procedures listed below are for the LH side.

  • A bolt without a torque specification is shown in the standard bolt chart Click here.

PROCEDURE


  1. INSTALL REAR SIDE DOOR STEP PLATE COVER LH


    1. Attach the 28 claws to install the rear side door step plate cover LH to a new step plate cover LH.

  2. INSTALL STEP PANEL LH


    1. Install the step panel LH with the 3 bolts.

  3. INSTALL STEP PLATE LH


    1. Attach the 15 clips to install the step plate LH.

  4. INSTALL STEP COVER REINFORCEMENT LH

    Tech Tips

    When installing the step cover reinforcement LH, heat the side step LH and step cover reinforcement LH using a heat light.

    Standard
    Item Temperature
    Side Step LH 20 to 30°C (68 to 86°F)
    Step Cover Reinforcement LH 20 to 30°C (68 to 86°F)

    Note

    Do not heat the side step LH and step cover reinforcement LH excessively.


    1. Clean the side step LH surface.


      1. Using a heat light, heat the side step LH surface

      2. Remove the double-sided tape from the side step LH.

      3. Wipe off any tape adhesive residue with cleaner.

    2. Install a new step cover reinforcement LH.


      1. Using a heat light, heat the side step LH and a new step cover reinforcement LH.

      2. Remove the peeling paper from the face of the step cover reinforcement LH.

        Tech Tips

        After removing the peeling paper, keep the exposed adhesive free from foreign matter.

      3. Attach the 3 guides to install the step cover reinforcement LH.

        Tech Tips

        Press the step cover reinforcement LH firmly to install it.

  5. INSTALL STEP LIGHT ASSEMBLY


    1. Attach the guide to install the step light assembly.

    2. Install the screw.

  6. INSTALL REAR STEP FLOOR WIRE LH


    1. Attach the 6 clamps to install the rear step floor wire LH.

    2. Connect the connector.

  7. INSTALL NO. 3 SIDE STEP BRACKET LH


    1. Install the No. 3 side step bracket LH with the 2 bolts.

      Torque:
      5.0 N*m  { 51 kgf*cm, 44 in.*lbf }

  8. INSTALL NO. 2 SIDE STEP BRACKET LH


    1. Install the No. 2 side step bracket LH with the 2 bolts.

      Torque:
      5.0 N*m  { 51 kgf*cm, 44 in.*lbf }

    2. Attach the clamp.

  9. INSTALL NO. 1 SIDE STEP BRACKET LH


    1. Install the No. 1 side step bracket LH with the 2 bolts.

      Torque:
      5.0 N*m  { 51 kgf*cm, 44 in.*lbf }
